All of DAZN cards put on by Hearn so far have been garbage. Remember when people were bashing Haymon and PBC for putting on too many cards that didn't have a lot of meaningful fights but now they're all praising Hearn and Arum for putting on all these cards. All these cards on ESPN and DAZN yet I've only tuned in to maybe 3 or 4. Tuned in to the DAZN fights and was bored by the weak fights and turned it off. SAme thing with some of the ESPN cards, ONly cards I actually tuned in to was the Crawford/Benavidez and the Ramirez/Orozco. Even those got a little boring with the commercial and ESPN presentation.
Youre only looking at this from an American perspective.
Well yeah, we're talking about the DAZN USA lineup after all. DAZN has different rights in different countries. My deal with DAZN includes half a dozen countries, but not the US. They certainly didn't sign Jesse Vargas and have him headline in Chicago because they thought he'd help put DAZN on the map in Italy or Germany. Hearn was supposed to put DAZN on the map in the US. He failed to land any US stars and Joshua's first fight was virtually ignored in the US and failed to generate anywhere near the amount of sign ups they expected.
Oscar is a liability, they have the right man in Hearn for what they have planned.
Oscar has a fighter the US is interested in watching. Hearn doesn't.
DAZN haven't just tasked Hearn to get in the US market, theyre funding him to go for the world.
And if DAZN decides in two years to cut ties with Hearn in the US, or renegotiate a smaller deal for the US, it doesn't mean they wouldn't work with him elsewhere. DAZN is hoping to get the UK exclusive on Hearn once his Sky deal runs up. DAZN is in this for the long haul, but it was a little foolish for them to believe a UK promoter was going to be the guy that could unlock the US market for them. So far, every Hearn show in the US has been a complete flop at the box office. Boxing is very territorial for a reason.
And lol at everything before being a dud, literally been going a month before they got Canelo on DAZN.
Was still a month of duds. Sign ups were far lower than expected. Joshua didn't end up moving the needle at all. This Canelo deal is a lot of money they weren't planning on spending. He's such a big star that they really don't need Matchroom USA anymore. It's not unreasonable to believe DAZN will want out of the Matchroom USA deal in two years or want to restructure it if Hearn fails to land any major US stars.
Honestly I think DAZN is asking a lot of Hearn & I won't be surprised if he burns out 3 years in.
I think it'd be smarter for DAZN to make a German DAZN deal with Sauerland or some players in Germany & likewise elsewhere.
I think Hearn is gonna be making a ton of mistakes over the next few years cuz he's trying to do too much sh^t. It doesn't seem sustainable to have one guy in 4 countries or potentially 20 in 4 years. I can't imagine thats the plan matter of fact. I bet Hearn will just be outsourcing the work or something. Buying Sauerland cards maybe idk.
Think that's what he will be doing, an Italian news site said he'll be teaming up with the Cherchi's OPI Since 82 promotion for the 8 Italian cards. Interestingly they've got Patera the guy that beat Ritson signed to them, may explain why he got a fair shake on the scorecards.
I'm not sure the Sauerlands are as strong as they once were, lost quite a few guys over the last year Pulev, Culcay, Zeuge, Braehmer, Koelling. Think I read they lost a German TV deal, and jumped ship.

My personal bias plays no role in my posting here. I'm rooting for DAZN, but my honest opinion is that until Canelo, all they had was quantity. A bunch of fighters nobody cares about in the US. Landing Canelo is a game changer, but everything prior to that was a giant dud. Nobody in the US cares about WBSS or Combate Americas. The Bellator deal was decent, but you can't build an obscure streaming platform on the back of a second tier league. Matchroom signed a bunch of guys HBO & SHO had largely ignored. The general public is stupid. They need to be spoonfed guys over and over for years. As for as the public was concerned, DAZN had nobody and/or didn't exist.
Now that DAZN has Canelo, I'd argue WBSS, Combate, etc are a waste of time and resources and if DAZN will likely get out of those deals as soon as their termination options come up. Even Hearn needs to be concerned because there's really no reason for DAZN to work with two major promoters. They'd be better off giving that money to Golden Boy. Remember, Eddie only has two years guaranteed. Then DAZN can say good bye and save some of that money while giving the rest to GBP in a restructure.
I hope you're getting paid well for all the negative ***** you write.
they could have million events won't mean shyt if they don't make good fights. So let's see who else signs with DAZN and what type of quality fights they make. Grabbing Canelo got them a seat at the table with the big boys. What they do with and if other top fighters sign is still up in the air.

DAZN haven't just tasked Hearn to get in the US market, theyre funding him to go for the world. Its actually 52 shows Matchroom will be putting on next year. 8 more each in Germany and Italy. Where DAZN go Hearn going to be, 20 countries by 2022
And lol at everything before being a dud, literally been going a month before they got Canelo on DAZN.
You claim to do business with DAZN and want them to succeed.
Yet when somebody mentions there is more boxing content on it than any other platform you get all pissy and start bigging up Showtime?

Doesn't matter how many fights people are putting on, it only matters if they are good, competitive fights that are worth turning in for.
Most the time, they're not.
What networks have I defended?
Don't make things up.
You tried jumping down his throat when he made a legit point that every network is providing boxing content. I personally do not have any interest in any network long as I see good fights. I also believe these networks are robbing us fans of great fights along with many of these greedy promoters looking to stuff their own pockets.
He’s no worse than you being a fan boy defending networks like you’re an executive or getting paid.

He can't handle the facts. FACT.
I didn't realize it was a competition to see who could televise the most boxing events. I was under the impression people subscribed to whatever services had the programs they were interested in watching.
