The ones I can think of:
Lomachenko
Crawford
Usyk
Mikey Garcia
Canelo
GGG
Thurman (when he was actively fighting)
Spence
Wilder & Joshua are the best Heavyweights currently but are they really elite level talents? They likely would be mid level fighters if they fought in the 80s & 90s for instance. Not sure if they fit in or not. I guess in the current era they are but not in general of the history of the Heavyweight division.
"If you’re going back 10 years what about Mayweather & Pacquiao"?..................................
Most regard both fighters as elite at 147, I do NOT!
Floyd at 130lbs was very good and a top twenty talent at that weight.
Manny at the lower weights was a terrific competitor and exciting performer.
Again most fans here think of both of them as great welters, they are NOT!
So ten years ago neither man was performing at their best!
Today every body is "great" and "elite" without boxrec no one on here would have an opinion!! :boxing:

Agreed I don’t agree with the pound for pound aspect,
AJ and Wilder would be s.hite if you shrunk them to 10 stone 7. Which since Mayweather is the land of the pound for pounders. People can’t wait to shoehorn those fighters in there.
But surely it should be about accolades and fighters who compete at their optimum level.
If you’re using the eye test then that ain’t happening. Just my opinion joshua still keeps winning and has beaten hall of famers and has stopped well schooled world and olympic champion who wasnt stopped before.
Thats elite in my eyes
Elite for money making or elite for sklii ?
Lomachenko
Inoue
Usyk
Crawford
Canelo
Golovkin
Joshua
Mikey garcia
...spence has still not proved himself yet so the jury is still in debate about him..only beat a damaged brook
That's because they don't belong and it's silly to include them. It's pound for pound not who has the best accolades, awards, or brags.

It's hard to say. There's guys who look a cut above the rest, who you'd imagine are elite level, but it's hard to say until they've been in there with, and beat, fighters of equal ability.
This is it. This is why I don’t hold any stock in the ‘eye test’
I’d sooner have AJ on a pound for pound list than Spence or Crawford. And people’s t.its absolutely fall out when they see a heavyweight on any pound for pound list.

No "Elite" men at this time.
The words Elite and Great have lost their real meaning on this forum.
Every era has their "best" but that doesn't mean their best translates to all era's.
There are a few very good talents in the past 10 years but elite is not a description of anyone I can think of.

Usyk lomachenko canelo and golovkin. There's others who I suspect could have elite skill set but unfortunately winning fantasy fights isn't enough.
Wow that is a shocker. You are going with eastern europeans and a guy that beat the top eastern european

lmaoooo im a fan, imam ride for my boy rigo, dude is a beast at 122 and 126 nobody would fight him
rigo, loma, canelo, m garcia, crawford, thurman, spence, fury... they all have good skill sets and the potential to be elite

I agree with this. When it get to world Level ‘the eye test’ isn’t really a thing - it can’t be.
How would someone like Winky Wright or Carl Froch look on an eye test? Really it is all about finding their level which can only be found by fighting the best opponents.
Crawford and Spence cant know their level at all.
I think I’d have the same that people mentioned Canelo, GGG, Usyk and Loma
You can’t make decent arguments against those 4.
I can’t stand 147 division - it’s the Shawn Porter division. The top dogs just all just sit on the sidelines until he picks them because they think he’s basic. I’ve never set down a p4p but I wouldn’t put 10 stone 7 fighters in there
Crawford
Loma
Usyk
M. Garcia
maybe Spence
Some of the smaller guys might be but I honestly don't watch much of the super light stuff.
I don't consider Canelo, GG, AJ, Wilder, or Thurman to be elite.
I remember back in the day when Thurman used to box.
This is the get back year baby. Later than planned, but have you seen his missus? Can't even be mad at him for taking a few extra months off.
