Whyte is a big enough fighter in the UK that this might do a nice gate. Ortiz is signed with Hearn as well if I'm not mistaken. Seems like an odd one to make in terms of risk vs cash out reward, but I don't have access to Eddie's ledger.
He’s okay with him because he doesn’t believe he’s THAT good and because he’ll probably be easier to deal and take less money than Del Boy who is a nutjob.
And Ortiz has this reputation among the American boxing fraternity seemingly, even if their British counterparts don’t think too much him
Win/Win anyway. Dillian is in good fight next. So good for us
Why not? are you a fan that want to see good fights? Or you have a stake in matchroom? It’s too many promotional fan boys on here
I don't see Eddy doing it without there being something in it for him
Why did he make Parker v whyte where whyte was the underdog? Because whyte wants to fight the best guys out there so Hearn is prepared to facilitate that . I know a lot of your fighters and promoters don't have that mentality but we do
who is we??? cause the only balls you have are the tranny balls in your mouth

You been having your Pom Poms out in full force ever sense GGG loss.
What's the upside for him? I don't see why he'd even make the fight.

If Whyte beats Ortiz impressively it makes AJ vs Whyte II more appealing because right now that is a rematch nobody gives a SH_T about lets be honest
However if Whyte gets knocked out by Ortiz, Ortiz head back to the US and it makes a rematch with Wilder PPV Worthy providing that Wilder gets past Fury
What's the upside for him? I don't see why he'd even make the fight.
Hearn doesn't choose the opponents, he delivers the fights his fighters want. Can you find me one fighter he's promoted who's had anything to say about him?
It's a risky one for Whyte. I imagine Ortiz will be the favourite.
With the Joshua fight looking likely for April, I would of thought Whyte would of took a 'stay busy' fight for December.
Good fight though if it happens.
where are you finding a tone of resentment or perceiving jealousy on my end? the strawman from the brits regarding eddie's pushing off the wilder fight has been pretty hysterical. you guys think we are all rabid wilder fans and we are not .
eddie hearn has said himself that he makes his money off of football fans and an "event" atmosphere. it's british people cheering for british people and celebrating themselves. it's not some kind of insult, eddie hearn is very good at what he does, he's found a niche in a very big market that usually only caters to soccer. his fighter, dillian white, is making a ton of money, certainly an amouht out of proportion with his talent. after all, we saw this guy fight joshua and offer him absolutely nothing, and here we have the potential for a white rematch. really!
- gets accused of jealousy, with facts.
- proceeds to write an essay to reject said claims.
lol.
dude, its ok. there's nothing you can do about it. hearn has a full time job as a promoter. he has to make money from promoting. actually, he could probably help you out too if you wanna learn the ropes of the trade.
Boxrec favours title holders.
That's a lie. The boxrec formula ignores all titles. In ring results are the only thing considered. Who beat who and how they beat them.
Lol this is one strange thread.
Why do you care what Hearn would get out of it? Whyte pulled out of a title eliminator to duck Ortiz and him and his fans have been running their mouth. This would be better than fighting Del Boy
yeah, great post im not understanding either lol, and whyte coming out of nowhere lying on Ortiz saying he priced himself out showed how crazy these guys are and nothing they say can be trusted. hopefully the fight will be made but I doubt it
its good fight for boxing fans to hell with promoters, make the fight. plus whyte just lied and said Ortiz priced himself out of the fight that was Ordered by the wbc... which in this case would have been impossible. showing that these people have no cares about how they lie.
I don't remember saying I wanted to see a Joshua-Whyte rematch.
Yeah, but he'd most likely be throwing away any interest in his Joshua-Whyte rematch
You didnt, but you implied there is interest in that fight and there shouldnt be at all.
What's the upside for him? I don't see why he'd even make the fight.
Because, after all the **** he talked about Joshua fighting Wilder (only for that fight to fall apart over his shenanigans), having Dillian Whyte talking all that **** about fighting Luis Ortiz, only for Dillian to duck out twice, Hearn's name turns to utter **** in the US.
His reputation is on the line now

Win or lose, Whyte is still the mandatory challenger for Anthony Joshua's WBO belt come April of 2019. However, if he also happens to win against Ortiz; Which is very highly unlikely he will also become Deontay Wilder's next mandatory challenger after the Dominic Breazeale contest with Deontay Wilder for the WBC title belt too.
