These type of fighters always get to polished ams with great pedigrees. They're too schooled and become frigid and predictable as a result.
Fury did it to Klitschko, Castillo did it to Mayweather, Salido did it to Lomachenko and Wilder is going to do it to AJ. This kind of stuff happens all the time.
This is pretty crazy honestly, I know ams is different blah blah blah..impressive though none the less ,right?Amateurs is indeed different blah, blah, blah. I say Usyk wins a rematch by first round KO. Usyk is a much better fighter than Porter now and top 5 on mosts PFP best list. I doubt you'll find Porter on anybody's pfp top 10 best list.
hes done pretty well to be fair, if he won 1 or 2 more rounds against brook and thurman he might be p4p top 5 at least lol, fine margins. in fact theres people who thought he won both fights
Wow, I never thought about it like that.
Insane what a few rounds can do.
No wonder dudes juice
He also got beat by Brook convincingly and then Thurman as a pro at 147.
He also almost lost to Julio Diaz the first time he fought him.
He's a great fighter not to discredit him, the point is that - beating Usyk in the amateurs doesn't define him and his skills as a pro. Andre Berto beat just about everyone in the amateurs, guy was clearly the top of the top there.
Styles make fights, Shawn's awkwardness and strength can and will give just about anyone and everyone problems.
ugh how'd i know the first comment would be some dumb sh|t like this, i clearly stated in the original post i know the difference between ams-pros ..it was a discussion piece no need to come in here acting like a know it all

not really, i made a ton of $ on that fight on the underdog Brook, only me and a couple of other people on here thought he would win, it was razor close..Brook won by 1 or 2 rounds, alot of people thought porter still won if i remember correctly..
I had the thurman fight a draw too, close fight that could of gone either way, people forget that Porter had Thurman in big trouble at one point too, yes he smothers he work at times, but he should beat Danny Garcia convincingly imo, who is the epitome of average.
Kenny Porter already mentioned that when they fought, both were 15 years old and fought at 165. Keep in mind Usyk also didn't hit his growth spurt, so he was likely just a bit taller than Porter at that point. I would imagine around 5'10. He's 6'3 now.
276–14 as an amateur. No disrespect intended but I can't help but think that Shawn might have progressed better than he has as a pro if he had had a different trainer.
