The current pathetic version of Tyson Fury is a betting favorite vs Wilder in the US!

Brits are notoriously optimistic when it comes to betting on their fighters BUT in this case...they may not be wrong.

To be honest I wouldnt bet on that fight. Totally unpredictable. If Wilder beats Fury then the chance this year is obviously the highest. Maybe after I see how Fury performs vs Pianeta. I would prefer to see Fury vs Wilder next year, after Fury faces at least 2 more opponents, but no total bums like Pianeta, but decent opponents ranked in the top 25. You cant go from facing #140 nobodies to facing the #2 in the division. If Fury vs Wilder goes to the cards, I can see that Fury, even if he outboxes Wilder, gets robbed on the cards. Dont forget, the hometown judges scored rounds for Wilder that Ortiz dominated, like a couple early rounds where Ortiz dominated and after 8 rounds, before the knockout, the hometown judges had Wilder actually winning the fight 85:84. Now granted Ray Leonard was special and is a All Time Great but no I don't think Skills Diminish from Long Layoffs. You don't forget how to or unlearn something by simply not doing it for 2-3 years. It is like Driving or Riding a Bike, once you learn it chances are it will likely always come natural to you even if you don't do it for awhile. Same with Boxers and Boxing! Now the Drugs, Drinking and the Weight Gain/Weight Flux yes that could be damaging to your career I'm sure Yep its not only the lay off its also the drugs, drinking and abusing your body that will do Fury alot of harm if he gets in there too soon vs a top heavyweight like Wilder. Leonard was a special fighter...but most fighters are heavily affected by long lay offs especially because their rhytm and timing aint the same anymore in the actual ring...plus that their bodies could break down like Hayes did.

Such a long lay off will affect his skills because His timing will be off, his speed will not be the same, his punch resistance can go down and he can be mentally struggling when he is hit with adversity in the ring....there is more ways a lay off can affect you than just in a physical way. Fury Skills won't Diminish because of a Layoff he is not going to all of a sudden Forget How To Box! In Fact, he is at a HUGE ADVANTAGE because he been able to scout and study both of those guys while he been away I'm sure. Too much is being put into his Physique and not his SKILLS! only just heard the news the fury is fighting wilder this year and had to laugh out loud and now hes a betting fav LOLOLOLOL what can u say, the world must be ending soon im trying to get my head around it, the guy has been on a drug/drink binge for years and with 2 farce fights he thinks he is ready for this fight, hard to even process whats going on in his head, the fury and warren show, what could possibly go wrong

Fury even at his worst is more skilled than Wilder I think he just needs to be good enough to be as tentative as he usually is and he’ll beat wilder in a boring desicion interestingly after this wilder will never be offered big money for a fight again the 15 mill for Joshua and 7 million for wilder will be so far gone the most he’ll be able to hope for after that will be 1-2 mill he should have taken the Whyte fight and then the Joshua fight would have happened possibly both of which are more winnable for him than fury

In boxing there is a simple old adage that fighters who FIGHT IN THE RING believe. “Once you’re in that ring, no excuses”!!! That’s the one thing that ticks a fighter off. Excuses. Fury at his best is a really good heavyweight and well deserved his win against Wlad. Fury at his best would probably beat Joshua. If Fury is anywhere near his best then Wilder deserves credit for beating him. But will he be a shadow of his former self? I think it's almost certain that Fury beats Pianeta, but you now what I think i'm going to round bet and stick a couple of quid on Pianeta, mental illness isn't something that just disappears, maybe Fury has a break down and quits on his stool half way through the fight? You just never know... My own theory is that Fury isn't actually back because he loves boxing again, I think he's spent all his money from his first run and he wants to cash in. fair enough, I can roll with this but Wilder deserves credit if he beats fury.
