Why the hate for Mikey Garcia?

The stomach dont lie; he's a 154 pounder.....He needs to get muscle, sort of like Floyd did after his first retirement; punches hurt breh; he has to getting his body strong enough for the welter grind....So he could start punching thru his target again; and not only having thudding power He’s too fat at the weight he’s at now. Look at old footage of him 3 years ago. He was in damn good shape. He even looked better in the Bronner fight than he did last Saturday

The one thing I will agree with you about is Mike is an over blown at 135. He belongs in 120’s. That said. You don’t fk with weights if your a boxer. Thought everyone knew that. He gets some criticism but most of it is fair. ignore the garbage from the portion of Loma's fanbase that likes him for non boxing reasons. The majority of posters don't seem to hate on Mikey that much. It will be interesting to see who gets blamed if Mikey and Loma don't fight. Hoepfully posters will blame Arum as they should.

Great fighter, I personally find his attitude refreshing. Win, lose or draw he should get a lot of respect if he steps in with Spence next. I think Mikey has been vastly underestimated on here based on the comments I have seen recently. I wouldn't be shocked if he beat spence

The guy seems to want all the smoke in boxing and is going to peoples divisions to get it.. Is this not what we want from a boxer?? At 30 he is 39-0 a 4 division champion and unified 2 titles at 135..Now he wants Spence's neck at 147!!!(no catchweight) Cause of the new generation of JEALOUS Kunts. Men aren’t men no more. With me, I see him as a lazy person that got over on talent and never really cared about the sport .. people bust there ass to get to Garcia's level yet, you could look at him and see he doesn't lift a weight or attempt a sit up... I saw a recent interview with Mikey play sf2 and ignoring boxing questions, that's who I see him as a guy that really don't care about the ins and outs of the sport... I think he's a great fighter. I only got mad at him when he said he couldn't fight Lomachenko because he took the Linares fight from him or something like that... months ago. But I'm fine with him.

He probably gets some of the hate because he is a very good fighter with lots of good wins. There is no legit reason to dislike him or hate him. He is a nice guy outside the ring and a brave outstanding fighter in the ring. When boxers are as good as he is they tend to get lots of unreasonable hate. Just better than average boxers don't seem to be worthy of extreme hate from the haters. It's usually the very best fighters who are on most pfp top 10 best lists who get this kind of hate. Guys like Mikey, GGG, Loma, Canelo, Crawford and Spence get some hate because they are so good.

He calls it running. We call it mobility. I see him as only fighting the same type all the time. He only fights guys who come straight at him. You present a guy who has good legs, and he will avoid them. He did it with Gamboa. He did it with Crawford, Manny and now Loma. Styles make fights and he avoids a certain style. Mikey only wants flat footed opponents. He does not have the spring in his legs to prevent getting turned. So you're saying Mikey avoided Crawford , Manny and Lomachenko ?

Seriously though. Just look at his opponents. You will see a common pattern. He chose Easter because he thought Easter would be right in front of him like Easter is naturally inclined to do. Look at the rest of his opponents. You will see it also. He is a good fighter, but he knows the style he will look good against. A chance to unify against an undefeated champion. There’s no shame in that. I thought Lipnetz was a solid fighter. A little more experience and he would’ve gave Mikey a very good fight. I was pleasantly surprised by his hands.

Mikey is doing his thing. I think the Spence fight is all wrong for him but it's his career.

Hmm. I haven't seen any "hate" against Garcia. Personally I think he's gutsy to take on Spence (if he really does) in the same way Kell Brook was gutsy to take on GGG. As in stupid. But gutsy, too.

First off Linares is not a second rate fighter he’s been running 135 for a while and Mikey would not fight like him. Linares came with a game plan and it didn’t work other than the flash kd he lost 9 rounds.. I guess it’s a moral victory for a flash kd to you? Mikey would not even be able to touch Loma, the fact your eye doesn’t see the skill in him says everything. Was Linares Easter or Garcia, nope, therefore he equals second tier, no thing elite about Linares he's been koed multiple times u know this...

If Spence brutalizes Mikey then what will people say? They will say, what made him think he could win that fight?

Their shouldnt be hate for Garcia. I say good on him looking for the biggest fights best paydays. Aslong as he puts in a decent effort and doesnt just throw the towel in at the first chance I will be tuning in and i bet 90%on this forum does aswell.

And what about Shortboa? Gamboa had a lot of mobility and attacked using angles. He was fast on his feet in his prime.

Easter is not a natural mover. He could not sustain it and would get caught on the ropes. When he did move, Mikey followed him around without throwing punches because he was unable to plant his feet. And what about Shortboa?
