I don't get what all the fuss is about? Amir was just happy to meet Bruce Jenner, was very respectful by all accounts.
This just goes to tell you: As a celeb/athlete, stay away from gays/trans in public or talking about them in public (postitive or negative). You'll just hurt some sensitive dudes/chicks and get in trouble with the media.
No one is arresting Amir Khan for calling him Bruce Jenner, and no one will, tbh.
Amir Khan's problem is that people are also free to disparage him for saying what he said, and enough folks taking offense to what Khan was free to say make him less viable as a marketer of product, leaving fewer companies willing to do business with him, and messing up his money even more. Khan saw the coming issue, and backtracked accordingly.
Manny Pacquiao, after the **** performance against Floyd, went on a public rant about gay people being worse than animals, and basically imediately lost every endorsement that he had outside of Asia, with Jimmy Kimmel and ABC no longer acknowledging his existence.
Freedom doesn't mean freedom from consequences.
You are free to tell someone to go **** their mother; there's nothing that government will do to stop you. Still, the knowledge that freely saying such a thing will lead to a possible physical encounter, which you may win or lose, puts a cost on said freedom, which usually stops folks from telling someone to go **** their mother.
If you want a world where you can do as you wish with no chance of receipt, head to Russia and marry into Putin's inner circle.
I dunno, he lives in the UK. They're arresting people for saying mean things on Twitter. Khan was lucky he did this in the US...
Yea but if we're all so free, surely it's free choice to decide whether to call him Bruce or Caitlyn? Seems more like a one way street than anything, not really freedom.

Same reason why Muhammad Ali took offense to folks insisting on calling him Cassius Clay.
Feel how you want, our society allows for free expression and for folks to live as they want, even if that means a man can have all sorts of surgery done to look like an early 40s woman, still only be interested in *****, and insist on being called a different name.

I made a genuine mistake at the #ESPYS Calling @Caitlyn_Jenner Bruce was in regards to their sports image, as an Olympian. It’s been brought to my attention that was it was wrong regardless. Therefore I would like to apologies to the transgender community.— Amir Khan (@amirkingkhan) July 21, 2018
"Calling Caitlyn Jenner Bruce was in relation to their sports image, as an Olympian"
Lol, it seems like Khan is genuinely confused about whether he should be talking about "his" or "her" sports image. Understandable, really, because "she" was a guy called Bruce back then!
It's just the mind confusion they want us to follow by. It's supposed to be Caitlyn not Bruce and it's supposed to be a woman as well not a man. Don't be surprised if Amir is murdered over this.
