So Wilder himself revealed why he didnt sign the contract to face Wilder:
1.) Rematch clause (only for Joshua)
2.) Officials (would be picked by the British Board of Boxing Control).
3.) "Crackhead money", only 15 Million, only 6 times his highest payday
When Floyd was the A side it was common practice that only he got a rematch clause and the NSAC (Nevada State Athletic Commission) also picked the officials. Also when did Floyd ever pay his opponents 15 Million or 6 times their highest purse? He paid Canelo 5 Million and Cotto 8 Million, and his other opponents got even less.
When did any of Floyds opponent ever complain or cry as much as Deontay and his team do right now?
Most of the people in this forum were totally fine with Floyd calling the shots when he was the A side fighting all these other high profile fighters and world champions but now they critique Anthony Joshua for doing the same?
Thats called hypocrisy. Double Standards. Bias. Thats why this forum is suffering and many good posters are leaving or stopped posting. When you eventually only have all the biased sycophants, trolls and dummies left you can all have a great circlejerk.
Now you can enjoy Wilder fighting a couple more Haymon controlled pushovers, at least he got a ton of publicity and promotion from using Joshuas name in the last couple weeks, his Teams plan worked, use Joshuas name to promote Wilder and manipulate the gullible american fans.
There's a reason Finkel protected Wilder from Klitschko and never even tried to unify the titles with Parker in 40 fights while Joshua has done so in just 20.
Think about it, Wilder fights one good opponent, an old cuban on high blood pressure (whose best and only good win is Bryant Jennings) and almost gets knocked out, his team either wants a retirement fund or they want to keep milking the paperchamp vs inhouse nohopers like they did all his career.

Joshua on the other hand hasn't so much as even remotely scratched the surface of what Money May has achieved in this sport. It's a very bad comparison. Floyd is a global icon whereas Joshua is just a local kid who has fought his entire career exclusively in Great Britain. He will never reach the amount of zenith, pinnacle, height, popularity or success as Floyd Joy Mayweather, Jr. has.
This is once again a lie .
Joshua stood to make 35 Million on the Wilder U.K fight so its impossible hes turned down 50 Million .
He basically said i'll take 15 Million less and i want home town advantage ( BECAUSE HE CAN ) . You fools just dont get it ! :trink26:
Wilder IS /DID turned down OVER 7 times what he makes so hes actually breaking a record of most money turned down ,not even including 4 belts and a 50% rematch claus in victory . lol
Have you been hanging out with this guy WBC WBA IBF by any chance ? :cool2:
35 is less than 50 million genius.
no heavyweight has ever had a 50 million dollar guarantee ever. joshua was offered something that lewis, tyson, holyfield, ali, holmes, foreman, klitschko never were offered and thats 50 million dollars.
where is the lie?
you cant spin a fact fanboy
Floyd's first PPV was against Gatti at the age of 28. He didn't have a huge PPV fight until the age of 30 against De La Hoya (which did generate $136 million overall), although Floyd earned $26 million for the fight.
AJ's first PPV fight in the UK was at the age of 26. Of course, UK fights are priced at like $26 (converted for you all), but regardless, this shows Anthony Joshua is well-ahead of the curve, including even Floyd Mayweather Jr. The only variables that remain to be seen, are if he can come close to anywhere near the same the longevity, or if he will have big names to fight in the future besides Wilder.

nope, im saying joshua turned down the biggest purse in heavyweight history because he dont wanna fight wilder
and i said you have no proof that floyd vs pac purses were the biggest in boxing history in 2010.
we do know that AJ was offered 50 million. we dont know what the purses were for that 50/50 split in may vs pac in 2010 and if you think floyd vs pac would have done 4.4 million ppvs in 2010 then you dont know **** about boxing.
you dont go from 1.2 million ppvs vs marquez to 4.4 million ppvs vs pac in 6 months time sidney
But Joshua wants to fight Wilder. He just wants it in the UK. That's not ducking the fight.
Floyd and Pac was a super fight at that point, of course it would have made serious money. It may not have done 4.4 mill on PPV, but it wouldn't have been far off.
Not only was Floyd/Pac red hot in 2010, but it was red hot in 11/12 as well. That fight should have been made. It would have broken PPV records. By the time it was made the lustre was all but gone. Nothing to look back on but embarrassment. The fight never happened sooner because Floyd was a coward, not because he believed it made more money later on.
Are you saying you want to wait a few more years before we get Joshua/Wilder to make more money? You don't think it's the fight to make right now? Of course it is. Waiting for a few more years would result in that fight turning into an embarrassment as well.

i never said wilder vs joshua was the biggest fight in history. i said joshua turned down 50 million dollars which is the biggest purse in heavyweight history. not tyson, not holyfield, not ali, not klitschko, not lennox. no heavyweight has ever made 50 million. thats a fact.
i never said people preferred to see pac vs may past prime. i said the fight hype was bigger in 2015 than it was in 2010. if you think floyd was guaranteed 100 million plus in 2010 you dont know **** about boxing.
the fight did 4.4 million ppv buys because of 5 yrs worth of promotion. in 2010. floyd only did 1 million plus buys twice. marquez and oscar. and pacquiao had only did 1 million plus buys twice cotto amd oscar.
floyd and pac were nowhere near as big in 2010 as they were in 2015. better fighters in 2010? yes. more popular in 2010? no

Aj signed to fight wilder
No he didn't.
Wilder refused
Refused to sign a contract that made no mention of the date and didn't guarantee the fight would be next.
If you believe Joshua/Wilder would be the biggest grossing fight in history then you're more deluded than I thought. That is a load of complete nonsense.
You think People were happier to watch Floyd past his best and Pac way past his best, to fighting in their prime? Is that your argument?
Delete this entire post, it clearly shows you to be deranged. No one with any sense could write such absolute ****.

If you don't think Floyd's opponents helped with the PPV buys, then I don't know what to tell you.
Joshua sold 1.5 million buys for the Wlad fight. He also gets close to a million buys with the others, so he's not far off Floyd.
1.5 ppv's at what price?? you have to look at the numbers...
so actual facts equal retard logic?
only on boxingscene
all i did was give you facts, not my opinion.
Do you understand that a comparison doesn't mean they have achieved the same? :lol1:
It's a comparison..
Because Wilder is American and Joshua is British. Personally I couldn't care if people want to support their local fighter provided that they come out and admit it. Some of the excuses about not supporting AJ is pathetic
we know that AJ turned down 50 million and they didnt fight. we know the exact amount and he didnt fight wilder so what are you talking about?
in 2010 floyd vs pacquaio doesnt do 4 million buys.
the fight wasnt as big of a deal in 2010 that it was in 2015.
and we dont know if it would have did the 2.5 million ppv buys that floyd vs oscar did.
so there is no proof that the fight would have been the biggest fight in history in 2010.
there is proof that AJ turned down 50 million which is the biggest purse in heavyweight history . thats a fact.
pac vs may in 2010 is opinion. it was a 50/50 split. was that 30 million a piece? was that 50 million a piece? we dont know.
and keep in mind floyd was coming off of beating marquez. he made a little over 20 million for that fight. thats not the biggest purse in boxing history at that time. so we dont know if pac vs may in 2010 is what u say it would have been.
floyd didnt get the biggest guarantee in boxing history until 2012. 32 million against cotto. then 41 million against canelo in 2013. then 120 million vs pacquiao in 2015.
