Say what you want, Stevenson flattened Dawson to claim the lineal light heavyweight title, and he's been offering up free smoke with no takers. It got so bad that Kovalev ran around talking all that ****, got the WBC to do the extraordinary in making someone else's champion their mandatory, with the pot split 50/50 by fiat, and he still turned tail. Stevenson is 40 years old, is showing clear signs of age, but he's still not a fighter that anyone outside of Eleider Alvarez is openly calling out to fight. Kovalev can't even say Stevenson's name, lol.
