If SRR fought during today's era, he would be called an "exposed" bum and "glass chin" on this forum. You basically have to be a super human genetically enhanced cyborg with 100-0 (100ko's) record to be considered "A level" on this forum. Anyone who doesn't KO all their opponents in the first round is "exposed"
Anyone calling Linares a shot fighter has the IQ of a dead frog. A shot fighter is Roy Jones, not Linares. And anyone with common sense knows that a draw is almost winning. Getting swelled up bloodied and cracked to the ribs and stopped is not "almost winning".
i wouldnt say Jorge is shot, but he is not durable at all and he never was, the moment Salgado starched him in Japan hes not exactly been the same, Demarco busted him up something serious, its a shame too because hes a B level fighter/gatekeeper at this point when he was projected to be something really special. I expected Loma to stop him but not like that, Lineares nearly winning was huge.

The standards are so high its ridiculous. You cant please any boxing fans.
They were saying he was that tbf, but his win today going up in weight and stopping a guy that was clearly bigger... I don't care It was impressive he clearly put his stamp on why he is NOW P4P 1 I don't see how anyone could argue it now, before I could but not now.
Maybe it’s because the guy seemingly quit when he had control of the fight. Linares literally stood there in the middle of the ring and allowed him to tee off, then didn’t seem to care all that much about trying to continue. The previous round he was hitting lomo at will including a 4-5 punch combination at one point. I give lomo his credit but I didn’t see someone who’s clearly the best p4p in the world.
1. The judges had it a draw at the time of the stoppage
2. Roy Jones Jr is NOT a shot fighterLinares was knocked out, that is not almost winning. This isnt horse shoes and hand grenades. And Lets put up a poll and ask if Roy Jones is a shot fighter and when the overwhelming numbers say he is, you close your account. How does that sound? You wont get a damn person who says Roy Jones is not shot but Linares is. That is stupid as hell.
Well, you're entitled to your own facts. I guess we watched two different fights.Anyone calling Linares a shot fighter has the IQ of a dead frog. A shot fighter is Roy Jones, not Linares. And anyone with common sense knows that a draw is almost winning. Getting swelled up bloodied and cracked to the ribs and stopped is not "almost winning".
Yeah and he damn near did.
Nice to know you keep track of my picks :PStay salty. And no he didnt damn near win. He was beat up bloodied and knocked out. That is not damn near winning. A 12 round draw is damn near winning.
Yeah, settle down mate. Pac was 17 with very little amateur experience. Loma was a fully grown man in his mid to late twenties with extensive amateur and pro experience, though people like to overlook that.
He’s essentially just skipped the part that most young, inexperienced pros need to go through because he was much older and already highly experienced in high level am fights and a good series of pro fights that just didn’t go on his record.
He’s at the same level now that any 30 year old experienced championship level fighter should be at.
Brilliant post.
Loma haters in a nutshell. Becoming a 3-weight world champ in your first 12 fights isn't that impressive? Pac's a legend, but his first 12 opponents were complete bums. kardsufur has it right. You have to be the perfect boxer to get respect around here. Lil haters will just have ridiculous standards for certain fighters.

Loma is like 11-1 with a loss to a mediocre fighter. His most impressive win is against a shot, albeit slightly larger, Jorge Linares.
Let's wait a bit before we even talk about the HOF for him.
WHY?
He has the best resume in boxing in his first 12 fights.
You one of them fanboys if your fighter looses he is a bum.
Isn't that what Loma fans were claiming he was? When you have everyone saying a fighter is a boxing god and is going to win easily, when he doesn't and struggles people are going to call out the people that said he was a boxing god.
Bro did he get the job done?
Did he make Linares quit?
What more does he have to do.

It seems to be a place of complete extremes and total opposites. On one hand you’ll have guys claiming that a fighter with just a few years as a pro, and only a dozen fights is already a HOF legend and on his way to becoming one of the greatest of all time after beating literally just a few fighters at the top level, and you’ll have others claiming he’s a bum that’ll get knocked out and “exposed” every fight. It’s all or nothing with most people here.
People just need to chill on both sides.
I do find the constant ‘greatest ever’ and ATG kind of talk more annoying though in general. It seems to get thrown around here a lot after every win.
It's not that impressive really. Pacquaio was a 8 weight world champ. Let me know when Loma does that.

Your standards are really low, unless the guy unifies every belt in every division between strawweight and heavyweight in less than a year he's straight garbage
He was pretty close to doing so. Loma is not all he was cracked up to be.
He scored a knockdown, then didn't follow up on it. Loma got back up, and knocked him out. Loma became a 3-weight world champ in 12 fights. Name one other boxer who did that.

He was gonna knock Loma out doe. :lol1: :haha:

If he:
a) doesn't punch so fast that you can't even see their hands move
b) isn't able to stay on their feet if hit by anything short of an atom bomb
c) isn't capable of knocking out the average boxer with hid steely glare alone
He's a bum, no exceptions
