Dan is saying Spike "begged" for the fight and claimed to be ready on short notice only to turn down $400K..
Spike didn't like that one bit

Spike ain't done.. He then changes his profile pic to this..

Zero fcks were given here.
Listen folks , Rafael was right
Don’t talk like you want the fight and are ready than balk at 400 K. Spike was training, take the fight, how many times in boxing history is a late replacement that gets a big fight with the campion or the Heavy Favorite and win or put up a good enough showing to get another big Tv fight and a pay day. Who the hell is spike O’Sullivan
The truth hurts sometimes. I like Spike and his style but Dan is spot on. And those criticizing Dan should take a long look in the mirror. A bunch of arm chair QB's should have zero to say. Bunch of fkn hypocrites.
Obviously they thought he deserved guaranteed 800k..
The point is, Spike din du nuffinz and shouldn't have been the object and Fat Dan's attempt to bring vitriol to him..
All he did was say "sorry I agreed to different terms; thanks but I'm out.."
And he IS good enough to cruise and wait for a big fight. He's only lost to Eubank Jr. and Saunders. He can definitely feast cruising for 5 months, 8 months, or a year and he'll get another title shot, and this time likely worth more money.
Who has he beat to be deserving of a big fight and 800k?
Dan is completely right though.
Spike isn't good, hasn't deserved anything, for him to get a 400k check on the big stage for doing nothing is a damn good deal, especially after begging for the fight on Twitter like a thirst hoe.
Spike could lose to a bum and make pennies. It's not like he's good enough to just cruise and make easy pay checks until he gets a big fight.
Yeah this fat guy can't criticise Spike for turning down "By far his biggest payday and a title shot" then in the same breathe try to back Wilder for turning down his biggest payday and a chance to be undisputed. He sounds like a hypocrite.
one fight is the biggest in boxing with one guy being cash cow in england but another having a huge upside as an american HW with a higher ceiling, the other is a tune up where osullivan draws next to nothign.
surely you see why those are different, right?
i don't think it was a bad payday if he couldmake weight, but the two things are very different. wilder is going to have to get a purse split in the joshua fight. the osullivan's of the world get a flat fee, and 400 is not a lowball at all really.
Damn even Spike's apparel company JAB gear getting in on the Fat Boy Dan clowning
Our main man Gary looking sharp as a dart 🎯 in his JAB gear!! Sorry bud don’t think we do Dan sizes but we might be able to put the our logo on a tent ⛺️ 👍🏻👍🏻 https://t.co/pkQsPlZlpB— Jab Apparel (@JAB_Apparel) April 24, 2018
Oh, STFU, I thought we rid the forums of your "oh boxing was so much better back in these days" types.
There are just as many awesome fights now as there ever was, and there will continue to be.
Twitter provides hilarious MENTS
Go jack off to a Laszlo Papp highlight or something
I remember when I was young, me and the boys would take the trolley to the fights. It would cost us a nickel for the ride and another nickel for the fights. We would wave at all the girls and wolf whistle at them. When we would get to the arena we would watch poundin Jimmy O'Brien fight Sugar Ray Donaldson. They fought against each other 11 times before and each time it got even better. The crowds were huge and uncontrollable. The fight lasted 47 rounds in the sweltering heat. 17 people were crushed to death in the crowd and another 60 died of heat stroke. It was a glorious day.
Spike is not letting up on the gas peddle. They need to call the bout, Fat Boy Dan's corner needs to throw in the towel LMAO
Loving my new tracksuit from @JAB_Apparel seriously good gear 👌👍Lads @danrafaelespn wants to know do ye have any fleece in XXXXXXXXXL 🙈😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/hf8tIai7hg— Gary Spike OSullivan (@spike_osullivan) April 24, 2018
True.
Spike looks silly in all this. He's a last-minute tomato can replacement that's offered 400k and he turns it down? After having politicked so hard for it on Twitter?
He was calling for the fight when he was being offered double that amount. That's the deal he agreed to. If I offer to buy your house for the amount you offer and then days before the deal is final you say well now I only want to sell the house for half that. Well them motherphuker that aint the deal we agreed on. 400K by the way is shyt money even years ago when GGG was fighting bums like Wade and Rubio they paid more then that. Hell Gervonta Davis just paid Cuellar coming off a loss and 16 month layoff 350K to move up weight and get knocked out. You telling me GGG shouldn't be paying much more then Davis who is fighting as the 3rd undercard? It was chump change and Spike is holding out for a better payday I can't blame him. He never agreed to 400K and shouldn't be expected to fight for it just because GGG got cheap in the 11th hour changing the agreement. As for who looks silly look on twitter Fat Boy Dan is getting roasted not Spike.
Let me explain things to you in your language Danny boy!1. If your at the bakery and the baker says you can have 1 donut right now!2. If you leave this 1 donut & just wait a few months you can have more than a million donuts 3. Luckily some of us have discipline! https://t.co/weClYjC7JF— Gary Spike OSullivan (@spike_osullivan) April 24, 2018
Dan might be fat, but he's usually in the right imo.

I can understand what Dan is saying, but Spike was brutal with his reply :lol1:
I don't mind seeing Dan brought down a peg or two at times. I have no problem with him speaking the truth, it doesn't mean he's hating, but over the years he has gone over the top on certain fighters when it's not been called for.
That 2nd Spike tweet and the talk of him getting a 3 fight deal from GB, makes me wonder if he's being given a Canelo fight in September? Hope not, as that will push back a GGG fight even further.
Canelo coming off a suspension and knee surgery will most likely take a tuneup in September. And the way GGG is talking he'll have no problem waiting since he's so thirsty for that Canelo payday.
Fat Dan isn't really wrong. But it's hard to feel bad for the guy.
You can't be obese, while essentially calling professional fighters bums and tomato cans, and not expect them to attack.
Yeah this fat guy can't criticise Spike for turning down "By far his biggest payday and a title shot" then in the same breathe try to back Wilder for turning down his biggest payday and a chance to be undisputed. He sounds like a hypocrite.
2 totally different scenarios. Spike would have been a last minute replacement, an obscure challenger that wouldnt sell 15 tickets. Wilder however is an undefeated champion and on almost equal footing to AJ.......
GGG and or Loeffler however you want to break up the blame pie. But Loeffler works for GGG and he ok'd all this shyt. But they had better fights for money money on May 5th or in June. They chose shyt options for less money to protect the rematch payday in Sept. They looked for the weakest opponents who would fight for the least amount. That's their right to offer shyt pay just don't blame Spike for agreeing to the fight under 1 offer you gave him and then not falling for bait and switch when they tried to sucker him by cutting it in half. Spike is doing the same thing as GGG turned down 400K and is now fighting a bum on short notice just to stay busy to land bigger money after May 4.

I agree they only wanted a weak opponent because its short notice, I'm not thrilled by all of this either, but Spike O'Sullivan is f**king trash!!
Vanes nearly two years out is a better opponent than Spike O'Sullivan at any point of time.
It's just a pity none of them made a serious offer to Andrade or Derey, its clear its all about the money with the GGG team right now which is a big pity.
Dan's right. He talked a big game and was offered highest payday and backed down. I don't get fighters. Do they not want more fame and money? Boxers are the worst businessman ever.
I can understand what Dan is saying, but Spike was brutal with his reply :lol1:

new golden boy deal for spike o’sullivan – golovkin/canelo remains the end-goal
by irishboxing | on april 23, 2018 |
massive middleweight names gennady golovkin and saul alvarez remain a big possibility for gary o’sullivan – indeed a new deal with american promotional giant golden boy could see ‘spike fight one of the pound-for-pound ranked fighters in december according to his coach and manager paschal collins.
In the past few months the cork middleweight has accepted fights with danny jacobs, alvarez, and golovkin but has seen all three fall through.
Initially set to face jacobs in new york this weekend, the mahon man’s co-promoters golden boy blocked this fight.
The u.s. Giant wanted to build o’sullivan as a potential opponent for canelo – who at that stage was still set to rematch golovkin in las vegas on may 5th. The 33-year-old leesider would fight the night before and then face canelo in las vegas if the mexican lost to ggg or in a texas stadium if canelo won and claimed the middleweight throne.
Two failed drug tests for canelo looked to have messed up o’sullivan’s plans, but a prize that was more than just consolation reared its head.
Spike became the front-runner to replace canelo as ‘golovkin’s may 5th opponent. The celtic warrior gym character agreed to the deal team ggg sent out for potential replacements and looked all set for his ‘dream’ fight.
However, after the offer, which was already substantially less than the purse offer to fight canelo in september, was halved, shifting the risk-reward scales significantly, o’sullivan’s team pulled him out of the running.
No doubt the fighter would have still considered challenging for the ibf, wba and wbc middleweight crowns, but collins, murphys boxing, and golden boy all had other ideas and still plan for o’sullivan to face one of the superstars at the end of the year.
“the risk far outweighed the reward. The reward outweighed the risk initially but then the risk started to outweigh the reward,” paschal collins told sportsjoe.
“golden boy along with ken casey from murphys boxing came along with a better offer. They said to spike that he was marketable but that he could also beat golovkin with the right camp.”
“they said we’re not going to prevent you from fighting him but here’s what we can do for you. They came back with an offer within 30 minutes – in writing.
“then golden boy said here’s what we’re willing to do for you and they came with a three-fight deal. They made us an offer we couldn’t refuse.”
the new deal replaces and improves upon o’sullivan’s original four-fight tv deal with the promoter – which he kicked off with a stunning upset knockout win over antoine douglas in december. The first fight of his new contract takes place next friday at the stubhub centre just outside los angeles.
Another fight would then come in the late summer or early autumn before, all going well, a huge fight with golovkin or canelo.
Collins outlined how “we can still fight canelo or golovkin because the third fight is going to be to face the winner of that rematch.
“it’ll probably be december if it’s golovkin or probably next april or may if it’s canelo,” collins added before suggesting o’sullivan’s disappointment is being offset by a big financial windfall.
“we know what deal we have, we can’t disclose it right now, but it’s a three-fight deal. Financially, he can earn more money than some world champions have earned in the last two years for his next three fights. That’s how much they want to market him because it’s not always about being a world champion.”
fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
