I'm with what other posters said. It should be back to 15. Boxing is about barely making it over the finish line. It's not about mastering how little you can do in that time period to not be dog tired at some point in the fight.
15 rounds would mean a seismic shift in the type of champions that'd make it to the top. Boxing used to be about your best self to cope with retaining stamina and endurance. Meaning if you were a bulked up gym rat it'd hurt your performance.
Like watching half a race lol, its about the finish its a test of wills.
You fellas are casual fans , hard core fans like the 12-15 round main event fights because they are the best fighters in boxing , if youre bored watching the best fighters then that's because you don't understand whats really going on , some fights are highly skilled chess matches and its great to watch it unfold.
That is your problem and nobody else's problem. You could always start watching fights at the start of the 5th round and then you wouldn't be so bored. I doubt they will no longer have 12 round fights just to keep you from being bored. I just watched many hours of boxing today and was never bored. Luckily for you they no longer have boring 15 round fights like Ali vs Frazier or the first Leonard vs Hearns fight. Maybe you need to watch sports that don't last so long like drag racing or the 100 yard dash.
Should go back to 15 rounds imo
^^^^ this... I’m already tired of listening to the lame Khan fans with their partial credit victories. I could only imagine what would happen if he only had to fight 10 rounds.
That said, many great fights would have turned out differently without the "championship rounds", which is why those rounds are there. To prove who really has the mettle.
Yep Carl Froch would've been in the uk selling fish and chips right now if it wasn't for championship rounds
I'd prefer 10 because there would be less concern about pacing and the action level would probably rise a bit.
