Why Do People Still Think Mayweather Ducked Khan?

Anything to put a negative mark on Mayweather You can stop slurping now, for crying out loud... just admit it you can fanboy over your lover whilst still telling the truth about a duck being a duck and just because you did that it doesn't make you any lesser of a fan infact it makes you a fan with some decency and honesty which we all know when it comes to Floyd Mayweather JR you lack that completely

Khan was free and willing to fight Mayweather at the time Mayweather decided to pick the lesser known safer option in Andre Berto, it's clear what the fighting fans would have rather seen between Berto and Khan, Khan is a much harder fight than slow plodding Berto ffs how can anyone even deny that Mayweather cherry picked his last fight when Khan was very vocal about wanting it.

Because it was a big money fight and Mayweather had no reason to avoid him. Why choose Berto over him? why Guerrero? why Ortiz? but not Khan? If Khan was so easy, why didn't Floyd fight him? big money for easy work? no I don't think so. Nonsense. Khan wasn't even considered an opponent in 2011. In 2013 he had lost 2 of his last 3 fights at 140 and wasn't considered an opponent then either. The only time Khan was realisrcially on the table was the Maidana fight and Maidana was the way more logical fight to make at that time.

Probably because of that whole poll thing maybe. I think Mayweather would of won easily enough, I was kind of surprised they didn't fight though around that time.

Khan's fans are a very loyal bunch and very devoted to him. They refuse to believe he has a glass jaw and isn't very good. He never did anything at welterweight to make a good welterweight be afraid to fight him. He just barely beat Diaz in England and had to get of the floor to do it Thurman took Diaz out in 3 rounds. He just barely beat Algieri who Pacquiao knocked down 6 times and beat him by 120 to 105. Spence quickly KOed Algieri. He never got a fight with Mayweather or Pacquiao because he never earned or deserved a fight with them.Even now he is fighting a cherry pick ranked 100th by boxrec and expects a win over him to get him a fight with Pacquiao. This exactly. Khan's 'army' of Bolton taxi drivers and take away delivery drivers created the 'Floyd ducked King Khan' narrative. In reality, Maidana had that win over Broner and brought a belt to the table. Khan had achieved nothing at 147, and never will.

because he did Khan would have been one of the worst style match-ups for Floyd. Floyd would have found a win to win, but it would not have been pretty. At that stage in Floyds career he didn't need someone like Khan. However it is a shame because i would have liked to see that fight, especially over the likes of Ortiz and Guerrero

It's funny that people even think Khan would have bothered Floyd. The likes of Peterson and Garcia found ways to deal with Khan's speed, even guys like Julio Diaz and Algieri weren't too bothered by Khan and his speed, but a master boxer like Floyd would have? It' laughable. Floyd would've schooled him in an uncompetitive fight. Completely different levels.

Maybe because Khan was the mandatory to one or more of Mayweather's world title belts? And if you avoid a fight against a mandatory, it's considered ducking.

I dont think mayweather ducked Khan. Who knows what happened in negotiations behind the scenes. I think Mayweather would of won a ud of him anyway. Khan quick but Mayweather was quicker with foot speed plus his ring iq totally out did Khans. I could see Floyd laying trap after trap and using his jab to the body to out point and embarrass Khan

Khan could have presented a problem, mostly because of his ugly style. Not because of skill Who wants to fight a guy that headlocks, pushes, etc. This is the truth. What they don't want to admit. Khan is not the best boxer in the world and has a glass chin but he has that speed, accuracy, reach, height. If Maidana with pillow gloves could win 5 rounds then Khan could have done maybe better. Styles makes fight and Floyd would not be able to do his large distance boxing against Khan as easy as he did against other boxers. Does it mean Khan beats Floyd? I wouldn't go that far. Maybe, who knows. But they didn't want that risk.

Mayweather probably still wins that fight 8 out of 10times Or loses it more times than not. We'll never know.

Why? Because Floyd's great advantage always was his superiority in footspeed and distance control over the guys he fought. He never looked comfortable against opponents who could do a halfway decent job of closing the distance on him. Khan would have been a problem and we know Floyd didn't have the power to guarantee he could make that problem go away easily.

No rational person says Floyd ducked Khan. Around the time when Khan was being considered Floyd was getting shredded for cherry picking.
