Andrade's promoter, Artie Pelullo, said he has been in discussion with Loeffler by text messaging.
"Tom … asked if is in the gym and can Demetrius make the weight," Pellulo told The Times. "I Told Tom yes. Demetrius is in the gym and, yes, he can make the weight.
Looks like he may have a shot.

ya...cause HBO hasn't spent a few years building GGG hype by paying him to fight can after can
HBO basically sucks on golovkins taint...just because he actually had a close fight with canelo and you guys cant open your eyes to it doesn't mean its HBOs fault
still waiting on your answer boy
So you had Jacobs winning 8-4? lol ok
but put that to one side, I asked a simple question, if one claims all GGG has done is face tomato cans, then name 15 better opponents for each of his 15 previous fights.
Simple as that bro.
Nah 114-113. GGG fought who was available. The division had been a weak one.
Andrade would be a big MW that fights southpaw. GGG has difficulties against that stance, and against bigger fighters. Jacobs won rounds by working on that stance.
I don't see it as an easy fight for GGG.
Jacobs also got dropped going southpaw costing him big in the fight.
Is Andrade a legitimate contender? Just want to find out before the fight so when Golovkin lays him out we can know if it was a righteous kill.:)
I don't know, is he?
2017-10-21 159½ Alantez Fox (Andrade down in 7th)
2017-03-11 153½ Jack Culcay (SD win)
2016-06-11 154 Willie Nelson
2015-10-17 153½ Dario Fabian Pucheta
2014-06-14 153¾ Brian Rose
2013-11-09 153¾ Vanes Martirosyan (Andrade down in 1st, SD win)
2013-01-25 154¼ Freddy Hernandez
He black/Cape Verde doe so if Golovkin doesn't fight him, he's ducking. If he lays him out, he fought a bum coming up from 154.
I say yes, a split decision over Vanes Martirosyan 5 years ago makes you a legit contender....5 years ago.
I had Jacobs winning by one point. Check your vision man.

I always felt this fight made the most sense. Since both are on HBO, Andrade is American and has some following. Certainly a more popular choice than Derevyachenko or O'Sullivan. He's good enough to where fans give him a shot to win the fight.
See, this is when it pays to maybe actually be smart and ask first, accuse later. I did not have Canelo in mind at all when writing that post, everyone knew, one way or another Canelo was going to get a favoured decision.
What was on my mind was the Jacobs fight, GGG won almost every round (I think gave him 7 but could easily have given him 2 more), scored a knocked down yet HBO tried their absolute best to not only make it a close fight, but to make it into a controversy. At the time I called it the most contrived controversy in boxing.
You keep stating GGG has fought cans, yet he has cleaned the division of all its top fighters so much so, that GGG is still champion as another generation of middleweights has risen up.
In fact, since the arrival of GGG on the US stage with the Proksa fight, he has had 15 bouts. Can you name me 15 different fighters he should have faced in that time?
Considering they were all cans for you. I'll wait.

Kinda feel for GGG, time isn’t on his side. He needs a bigger name now because anything else would be clapped on, maybe Charlo would be happy to do it.

I hate Golovkin? mmkay, that's new.
I've said several times there are a ton of good options.
Andrade got a split decision win against Jack Culcay at 154 last year. He's getting hype like he's a proven, world class MW contender. His resume is empty. Not "omg Wilder fights only bums", but he has 2 fights against top10 opponents at 154. That's it.
His last fight against Fox was at 160. Truthfully, it isn't any worse than Charlo's victory against Heiland. Though he isn't proven, Andrade has some physical tools that will present a challenge. I also wouldn't mind Derevyanchenko, who is rugged and technically sound. I think Derev presents an easier style for GGG, but the fight would probably be more entertaining.
HBO has promoted the hell out of Golovkin, but the HBO boxing commentators, particular Max go out of their way to give credit whenever anyone has a decent half round against Golovkin. A few years ago, Golovkin was knocking guys out in a few rounds and Max would try to spin it into "Now maybe Golovkin has shown to be vulnerable enough for others to get in the ring with him"...I think that was after the Monroe fight where Golovkin punished him and knocked him down and made him quit (but Monroe had one decent round).
that whole narrative about being shown to be vulnerable against monroe was one that gggs own fans played up on message boards and even abel sanchez backed
abel said "if we looked great we'd never get the canelo fight"...and gggs own fans suggested he took punches on purpose and let it last longer than he could have in order to sucker in canelo
so im not buying that .....hbo paid golovkin for fights they prob wouldnt pay anyone else for....they branded him
lol so who exactly is ggg supposed to fight that's legit you spaz be real you will crap on anybody he fights because you hate the guy. LMAO!

No, he's not in the running. He's a southpaw and a tough out. GGG is like 2 defenses away from breaking the record and they're not risking that on a short notice fight against Andrade. Expect a layup fight then Saunders in fall then Canelo next May.
Expect to say Andrade systematically destroyed on this forum, by the time of fight night he will.be regarded to be no better than spike.
Like when you hated and gave Jacobs absolutely no shot then realized at the last minute you needed to give him props in order to make it look like a good win? :lol1::lol1:
