Wilder has often been said to have a weak chin. What do you think? I know it's the heavyweights, where anyone can knock anyone out, but I think his chin is on the weaker side. He was dropped by Sconiers and Nichols, and rocked by Molina and Ortiz.
I'd say his chin is average at best for a heavyweight champ. I think his chin is about the same as AJ's chin.I think Ortiz would have KOed him if he had hurt him earlier in the round. He was out on his feet when the bell rang and then there was a delay getting the next round started. Ortiz hit him with some good punches but not with any real bombs that I saw. Wilder has been hurt in other fights as well by punches that weren't all that hard. I think AJ can knock him out with a good right and Wilder can knock AJ out with a good straight right hand.
the uppecut joshua landed on wlad would've killed wilder.
Lol, how do you know that?
I see you're unfamiliar with Klisthko's career. Why do you think he has been fighting like a b1tch for the last 12 years?
Wilder showed a good chin and recovery ability. His defense when he was wobbled was also good. He smothered a lot of Ortiz's onslaught in round 7. Ortiz spent himself in round 7 trying to finish Wilder and couldn't fully recover. While Wilder was fully recovered by then end of round 8.
The fact that Wilder was able to still pitch a one hitter quitter in round 10 makes him an extremely dangerous heavyweight. Ortiz was no slouch in that ring and had Wilder in a world of trouble. Not many heavyweight would have made it out of that 7th round against him.
haha pretty much this ^. dont understand how getting badly wobbled is proof of a great chin, if it was that good he wouldnt have done the whole drunk at the bar routine in the first place
He was t'ed off on twice after he was wobbled.
The man took a sustained beating for a minute from one of the biggest punchers in the division. Not only head shots, but body shots as well, and he did not hit the canvas. He had the presence of mind to hold and try to use his defense throughout. That's a good chin if I ever saw one. And the punch from Ortiz that caused it, was a sneaky right hook he didn't see.
these guys have no idea what they are looking at. i was expecting wilder to get stopped. ortiz was doing exactly what he needed to do. but wilder had the nuts, the gas tank, the chin, and the punching power. we weren't sure about any of that other than the punching power.
it really was a great fight. i was so infuriated when people were booing. FFS those two are huge hitters and could end a career on a mistake. just be patient and enjoy the boxing until somebody gets his clock cleaned.
wilder showed a good chin. lesser fighters have gone down from those shots. bigger guys than wilder too, mind you.
credit wilder for showing that he was tough, has a good chin, and for being in shape.
he's just got to work on the rest of his game. a lot. it's amazing how far he's gotten with all of these flaws. his jab, when he actually throws it, is anywhere from a very good tool to basically impossible to deal with. he really is a talented fighter. speed and power and a ton of range.
jesus f#cking christ he can punch.

Above average for HWs. Better than Klitshko's and Joshua's that's for sure. No doubt Joshua would've been knocked out by the bombs Ortiz threw yesterday. Parker is still unproven. Povetkin was dropped by a jab.

Unless you have an extremely good chin, you will get hurt and dropped in a career at HW.
Even against supposed weak opposition.
His chin is fine. Not great, but fine. Same as Joshua.
I think it's still undecided. Ortiz didn't land many flush shots to say that wilder has a great chin. Go watch dorticos/Gassiev. That is how an iron chin looks like. Wilder didn't take anywhere near same caliber of shots.
Lol, did you even watch the fight?

He's definitely susceptible, but he's got heart. He took everything ortiz could throw at him and managed to wear it. That said, the fight could have very well been stopped there.
