Nowadays boxing is a disgrace- a bunch of belt-holding "champions" in every division and a sh1t load of "super" and/or "junior" divisions.
No one outside of hardcore fans knows who the boxing champ is or which division they are in or what the fk is even going on. So they stop caring.
There should only be three divisions in boxing: Lightweight, Middleweight, and Heavyweight.
Heavyweight- Anyone at or above 200lbs. Only one HW Champ and one belt.
Middleweight- 160-199lbs. Kovalev, Canelo, Usyk, Ward, GGG, Jack, all need to be fighting each other. Canelo walks around at 200+ easily, don't tell me his fat ass is too small.
Lightweight- anything 159 or below. Crawford, Charlos, Thurman, Davis, Loma, Broner, Mikey, all need to fight each other.
These would make for some amazing fights. Imagine Loma vs Mikey, Canelo vs Kovalev, etc.
Get rid of Batamweight, featherweight, and all that sh1t. Don't need men weighing less than teenaged girls in boxing. (Just LOL at grown men weighing less than 150 lbs). Bulk the fk up and fight at lightweight!
Same day weigh in for all, no more rehydration nonsense, no more using weight divisions as an excuse not to fight.
Now everyone knows who the Heavyweight, Middleweight, and Lightweight champion is.
Time to bring boxing back to the glory days!!!!!
The alphabet soup is ridiculous, there are far too many champions with diluted belts.
There are too many weight classes, primarily in the lower limits.
But the only thing worse than having 150 weight classes would be having three. It'd deprive us of the best fights out there.
I agree there needs to be less weight classes but not three. I would eliminate the junior or super weight classes. Go back to 8 weight classes, 8 champions. Either same day weigh-ins or rehydration clauses so fighter's cannot gain weight that would put them above the next higher weight class.

You're a dumbass. Anyway i'd keep it to these divisions and one champ in each weight class
Flyweight
Bantamweight
Featherweight
Lightweight
Welterweight
Middleweight
Light Heavyweight
Cruiserweight
Heavyweight

I would be happy with 5 or 6 divisions.

Poor attempt at a troll thread.
You 'LOL' at grown men under 150lbs, but have #1 welterweight as your user title? Not very bright, are you?
lightweight, welterweight, middleweight, light heavy, and heavyweight. 1 belt for each division.
I have always hated all these current weight classes and 4 fkn belts for each of the 200 weight divisions. i really wish boxing got away from this. it totally waters down the sport in a huge way.
If we had less weight classes and only 1 belt per division, we would get soooo many more better fights and maybe just maybe these fighters wouldnt be so afraid to let their 0 go.
They should make a 90 pound division for homosexual manlets that don't want to get hit too hard, the way I see it is that as it stands, it is pure discrimination that they don't accomodate for 90 pound fully grown men (who just happen to be homosexuals)
" Don't need men weighing less than teenaged girls in boxing"...................................hahahaha
Those "teenage girls would make you cry in the ring!
Three weight divisions is a really dumb idea.
The junior and super classes must go and all the 12 round bouts need ONLY be REAL title fights. Return the contenders and fringed champs to 10 rounders were most belong.
Ray.
3 divisions is dumb and stupid.
But you are right, too much divisions in boxing.
I would welcome maybe only 12, 17 is far too much.
Too much belts 68 regular belts, 75 if you count fckin IBO.
12 divisions and 12 belts would be perfect.
This is boxing dude not the Hobbits from Lord of the Rings lol.
Really? You haven't noticed that all of the Strawweights, Flyweights, etc. are from asian countries?
yes there are too many weight classes, but just having 3 would be ridiculous. Nobody would want to watch Keith Thurman beat the crap out of a 100lb Japanese fighter.
Reducing weight classes would be a good start, we don't need 17 of them, especially when the difference between some is 4-5lbs. But the big issue (at least to me) is that there are too many sanctioning bodies and meaningless ABC titles.
No, man. There can be only one!
I say we eliminate weightclasses altogether and make each fight to the death!
OR
Return to the original 8 maybe with a cruserweight division thrown in to allow for the fact that there's just more bigger guys these days.
OR
Start again in Metric with about a 10% increase between each class
Start with Fly at about 50Kg and work up from there:
50, 55, 60, 66, 72 (roughly MW), 80, 90, 100, 100+ (Roughly 220Lbs - Heavyweight). - possibly without the 90 - 100kg class and HW being 90+
And yeah. One strap per division, one overarching governing body, some form of fan involvement, corruption oversight and democratic accountability.
A man can dream, can't he?
