winner is first ever undisputed at cruiserweight in the four belt era.
both have beaten prime opponents to get to this final.
where do u rank the winner on a P4P list?
and i just found out gassiev is 24 yrs old. mofo looks at least 32. damn man if he wins wouldn't he be the youngest undisputed champ since tyson? holyfield was 25 when he did it at cruiser.
See? I know all about going against the masses.
I think it really has to do with Gump being an idiot and not knowing it. Kind of on terms with the never go full retard thing on Tropic Thunder. Gump doesn't go full retard but damn, he's close.
Haha, right on. To each their own in my opinion. You like what you like, who am I to judge it.
Oh I hear ya there. I don't have him as number one. I also don't like Forrest Gump. I've gotten a lot of hate over that one. Haha.
Damn, thats a tough one for me to swallow. Forrest Gump is cinematic genius...:lol1::lol1:
:lol1:
Oh, not for me. Ali is way up there on the heavyweight list, no doubt, but not necessarily number on. The first one to call him the greatest was Ali. Haha. He's on up there though for me.
Oh, with out question he is one of the best HWs ever. People sometimes tend to lose their **** when you question his place at number one. I have no issue with Ali and think he was a great man but I dont run with the herd on much of anything and question things. My opinion most times differ from the masses.
They get to enter the top 10, I guess. Not my top 10, but i'm sure major boxing publications will. And i'm sure they're already top 5 on some crazy ass motherf*cking fans lists. I like Gassiev though.
They usually seem to be. So Ali wasn't "The Greatest"? :lol1:
Ha, Ive stated my opinion on this many times and have been beaten up for it but no. Ali was not the greatest, he isnt even the greatest HW of all time. He was very good and an all time great but he isnt number one or even number two on my all time HW list. I know thats Blasphemy for most of you...:boxing:

Good call. I think if people rate Crawford, Golovkin and Lomachenko in the top #3, then I think there is very valid reason to have the winner of the tournament as #1.
The only thing (probably the main thing) against them is that they are not American.
But if you want to claim Crawford - well look who he beat and who they beat. If Crawford get's top pick for beating that African guy (who beat two lowly rated champs), then the same question must apply. Now Crawford has moved up and will challenge the easiest champ out there (merit wise would anybody really say Horn is a bona fide champion, seeing everybody had him losing clearly against Pac Man).
If Usyk wins, he would have beaten 3 top champs who had beaten other champs.
As there is no criteria to state who is and who isn't, it's only going to be subjective and bias.
On merit i do think the WBSS Cruiserweight Champ will have a very good case.
I don't know, man. Roy spent most of his career above 160. Kind of hypocritical. I know you say there are exceptions, but maybe you're not giving these guys enough credit?
Im saying Roy is example number one of the exceptions. Im not hating on either fighter. I think they are both great fighters but for me the best fighters excluding a few have always been smaller.
Eh, I dont think so. To be honest with you the best fighters barring a few outliers have always been 160 down. They are both very good fighters and I take nothing from them but its hard to carry more than 160ish pounds and have the hand speed/foot speed and technical abilities that alot of the guys in lower weights face all the time. There have been exceptions of course.
<--- This guy is example number one.
definitely no .
p4p is about being the best
not winning a tournament
loma is being ducked by or has beaten best fighters in his division, same with crawford but because they didnt do it in a tournament format they shouldnt be number 1 over wbss winner?
besides, middleweight and light heavyweight are the best divisions in boxing anyway
u lost me there. a tournament is designed specifically to determine whos the best. andre ward didn't get P4P recognition until he won the super six. and crawfords resume is overrated AF. danny garcia had a better run at 140 and was never considered for P4P. yea bud became undisputed in a trash division. cruiser is way deeper than 140 by a mile.
The larger you are the less significant 8 lbs is proportionally. I mean 8lbs increase means more to a 115lb man than to a 175lb man.
Yeah, obviously.
but asking a 112 pound man to put on 6 pounds of muscle (5.3% of his bodyweight = 3 divisions, 112, 115, 118) is not comparable to a 175'er putting on 25 pounds (14% of bodyweight) to fight at CW, and CW to HW is just as bad or worse considering some guys go to 260 and above.
Not to mention, the human body and its limitations as for how gaining lean muscle is concerned. The lower divisions are only plentiful because it means more sanctioning fees and it's easier for promoters to promote midgets when they can say "39 weight champion".
I agree to an extent, but no-one can convince me that being a multiple weight champion in 3 divisions separated by 8 pounds can be compared to having to move up a division and put on another 30 pounds to compete. The human body can only put on so much muscle in a period of time

Moving up in weight in pursuit of bigger fights is potentially a better indicator of greatness than staying at one weight and collecting all the titles there. Usyk has stated an intention to move to heavyweight eventually and if he could do that successfully, then that would demonstrate major pound for pound value.

Who ever wins is my #3 p4p this is the 5th fully unified champ in hisyory so they deserve it. But Loma and Crawford who also was just a fully unified undefeated champ deserve top 1 and 2 spot imo especially if Crawford wins that 147 title.
