release date is November 21st 2018
thought southpaw was much better although critics dont seem to agree
Did not like that one but thought Bleed For This was pretty good. The Duran movie was OK but could of been a h ell of a lot better.Should have shown a lot more of early life and more on his 135 reign and how he got that rep as a monster. And also the Moore fight which made panama forgive him and made him a star again.Guess that would have been pretty long but would have been great for me.
But even in Rocky Balboa, the only way they made it even remotely competitive was the champ didn't really take the fight camp seriously, Rocky had to train like a ****ing lunatic, and the champ basically blew his arm out early in the fight.
And even then, he still lost the fight.
For all the ridiculous of Rocky, a certain level of viability was inherent in all of the films.
I agree about that with 1st 4 and prob Creed but I thought the 6th one was pretty out there.5th was just bad lol.But the 1st is still a classic Apollo Creed "master of disaster" played a big part for me.Funny that song if I hear it in right mood still makes me wanna throw a few combo's lol.
I still don't really count the WBO, but that's another story.
Yea it started in 88 but don't count guys who won it before calzage and Barrea had it.Hard to call anyone a titlest even when they made Camacho(who had fought only ONE top 20 guy at weight(H Davis)and Mancini who had NEVER fought at 140 and had not fought in 5 years!! And lost last 2.Joke I don't concider ODLH a titlest at 130 for beating J Bredall not even a top 10 fighter. And to me there is a difference between a titlest and a CHAMP.
Well I think you had a pretty good idea of a scrip but this IS holywood I mean Rocky was like 50 something in last Rocky(real life Sly was like 60)and fought the Champ(Tarver)and gave him he ll of a fight. So would not put anything past them.To me its already dead I thought Creed was OK but nothing special.

I think all alpha bit titles would work as far as value.Esp WBA and all there interim, regular, super regular, regular unleaded.I watched how the WBO became "legit"more and more writers naming them.I don't even like to write ibo we REALLY cant afford a 5th lol

Maybe Drago could be like Loma some Olympic type freak ready to challenge early in the pros. Release the 3rd Creed movie 2 or so years after the 2nd which allows Creed some defences and Drago to fight 15 times and call out Creed after every fight he wins on the way up. Mocking his deceased father and turning it into a grudge match and super fight.
Not sure how realistic that'd be, tbh. Then again, we're just sharing opinions anyway
Except that that wouldn't make sense; Apollo Creed was a long retired fighter, looking to come back and make a bit of coin fighting a novice pro in an exhibition.
If Creed beats Wheeler, he'd basically be the light heavyweight kingpin just peaking as a pro.

Would rather not validate the IBO belt in film, but that would seem to be the only way you could pull off the story; the only way you keep a fighter as talented as Ivan Drago's son from going global would be to hide him out, fighting for a prize that the world doesn't really value just yet

Or at the end of the movie you could have young Drago winning Olympic gold and announce that he is going to go pro and target Creed the way his own father did.

Kovalev would be the most suitable fighter to play Ivan Drago's son.
Odds are, Kovalev would try and fire the Director, blame the Producers for him screwing up his lines, then disappear into the night when people don't find his bullsh*t funny anymore.
How? His hairline is terrible.
They could just write it in the script that rocky hit drago so hard in the 4th movie that he gave his future sons male pattern baldness

Well you put some thought into that.Maybe you need to give a shot at writing scrips in holywood.Sounds better then what was reported you might have something there.Nice post except the IBO part they should NEVER be used we cant stand a 5th

Only sensible way to weave Drago into it would be if they have an Anatoly/Vasyl Lomachenko arc to it (Drago, after having the career that he did in the USSR, and how things turned **** for him, bore his son with his wife. The story hasn't really been told, but you can show how a protective father, with self ambition in his heart, was able to rear a star athlete through the tumult that was the fall of the USSR, the attempts towards open democracy, and the rise of Vladimir Putin's Russia).
An interesting story, if you've got the folks working on it who can tell it, but it's a story that you save for Creed 3.
The bastard son of Apollo Creed needs to return home and claim his place in LA, and the only way to do that is to topple his pop's Delphi Gym and beat Danny Wheeler (Andre Ward).
Ricky Conlan goes into jail, Adonis Creed gets a piece of the light heavyweight championship, Danny Wheeler gets a piece of the light heavyweight championship, and you determine the true kingpin in a "Battle of Los Angeles" at Staples or The Forum (whichever looks better on the screen).
While that's going on, you can start to introduce Drago and his son (Olympian for his country and a stellar talent, holder of the IBO belt, but backed by some Kremlin-connected money guy to showcase him in Russia as the world's greatest fighter).
The third movie almost writes itself

Good stuff man, a lot to explore if they wanted go dig deep into the Rocky mythology. I loved the first Creed, probably even more than the Rocky films to be honest. Just bummed it doesn't have the same director who was the true visionary so i'm hoping the sequel doesn't falter due to it.
If I'm Sly, I'd just wait on Coogler, tbh. Creed brought the Rocky story into today's modern time in a way that Stallone likely couldn't have even guessed.
He's literally sitting on a gold mine if he plays this right; at least another 2 films and maybe another $500m at the box office.
