Anthony Joshua ”80-20 Split For Me Against Deontay Wilder Or NO FIGHT!!”

If AJ said something this ridiculous we’d all be saying he’s priced himself out! 50-50 is a blatant duck and makes no sense on any planet. PacMan got 40% against Floyd even though he was one of the biggest stars in boxing with several PPV’s. Wilder would be lucky with 35%. AJ will have beaten Parker and will have 4 belts, he’s a PPV star, he’s the biggest star in boxing and regularly sells out stadiums like Wembley with 90,000k fans, Wilder hasn’t even had half of 90’000 fans attend all his fights combined… 50-50???!!! He also said he will fight Dillian Whyte if AJ is on the contract so Hearn called his bluff and put AJ on the contract but Wilder refused the offer to fight Breazeale instead!! You can’t spin this one, he is officially pricing himself out. On 78sports video today he said AJ is going for Parkers belt for leverage on the split but he still has the WBC belt so that’s his leverage, he said AJ cant unify for undisputed without him.. So either he pays up or we don’t get unification!!! Disgusting behavior!! He’s basically selling his belt.. what a shame, You Deontay fans need to call your boy out on this BS we all want to see the fight.. Even Wilder fan boys know he is pricing himself out! So sad, I though Wilder might just man up this time and make this fight based on all the trash he’s been talking. He’s a joke!! He’s being doing it all his career.

You can’t sell this fight in Vegas for at least another 2 years or it will flop, people aren’t going to pay Floyd or Canelo ticket prices for fighters that they barely know so where is this huge gate going to come from?? UK is the safe and proven market. Vegas is a gamble at this stage. I don't think some people on here understand how the boxing market works, unless they are just blinded by Wilder or the American passport that he carries. Where are they getting this Vegas thing from? Like the money is there lol, if the Vegas money is there NOW then trust me that greedy bastard (Hearn) would fly a plane there himself with Joshua in the backseat.

You clearly didn't understand my post. The rematch clause will only be effective if AJ loses. Wilder won't have a rematch clause. You clearly didn't understand what was being discussed. Other posters suggested Wilder should accept whatever is offered and then reverse the terms for a rematch. But that's not how it works. The rematch is negotiated in advance.

No matter how unlikely you believe it is that your fighter will lose, if you are the A-side in a voluntary defense, you insist on a rematch clause. Standard operating procedure. This game is about minimizing risk. Not taking unnecessary risk. You clearly didn't understand my post. The rematch clause will only be effective if AJ loses. Wilder won't have a rematch clause. When Wilder can't generate more than $2m by himself, he doesn't deserve anywhere near 40%. AJ isn't a charity.

That would be fine but when you repeatedly claim you're the best and just want your opportunity to prove your the best you can't then say I'll only accept the fight on ridiculous terms. Fighters who are true to their word take the small %. All of Oscars PPV's he was taking 65%+.

Agreed. Fans always lack consistency when judging situations like this. When Joshua said he didnt want the fight till 2019 we said it was a negotiation tactic ('i dont really need the fight, could take it or leave it, dont need to pay you loads of money to make it' type thing), and now Wilder says he wants 50/50 we are just gonna take him at face value? Hearn would never agree to that, nor should he. Let's say AJ vs Wilder gets done at 60/40 (which is likely the range it gets done at), there's no way Wilder gets 60% in the rematch if he wins. The best he could hope for in the rematch clause if he wins is 50/50. There is no way the fight gets done at 60/40 either. For the record this is what I said in the article thread: I find it hard to believe this isnt just a negotiating position. Wilder isnt getting 50/50. We know it, he knows it, his team know it and Hearn/AJ definitely know it. Fight will get made around 35/75 or 40/60 kinda range. That would be generous to Wilder, but he does have leverage with his belt and fans do seem to be taking more of an interest in this fight over the Parker one. The more dangerous the opponent is perceived to be the more people are gonna pay for a Joshua fight, whether or not the opponent brings his own fans.

EGO boxing has more than 100k subscribers.. In his video he says that this is a “Good Business Move By Wilder” and that its smart negotiation.. WTF.. Since when is it good business to price yourself out? If you want something you don’t price yourself out, you ask for something reasonable so they give the fight to you! EGO made another video on Oct 28th when Hearn said Wilder would not get 50-50. In that video he roasts AJ and Hearn because he said they’re making it obvious they don’t want the fight.. Why isn’t it a negotiation tactic when Hearn says no to a 50-50??? But when Wilder says it ohh he’s a smart man.. see the hypocrisy?? There were loads of Wilder fan girls in the comment section of that video saying AJ is a duck. Nah man EGO took a huge L on that video, the vast majority of comments called him out for his blatant bias. The Wilder fan girls were vastly outnumbered. That video made me lose a ton of respect for EGO, he’s just another pro-USA guy it seems. I always felt his views on anything AJ-Wilder were skewed but that video took the flipping cake.
