Horn vs Marquez

Why isn't this a fight Marquez is pursuing? Surely he'd be able to beat him while picking up his belt in 147 that he's been wanting. He'd be able to really go out on a nice retirement fight. Because JMM is old, shot, and retired. Horn is too big, too aggresive, and too awkward for JMM at this point in his career (retired).

Marquez is retired. He's by far the better and more skilled fighter but Horn may be a bit too big. 147 isn't Marquez's best weight. True and I don't think he beats horn anymore he is 44

I thought Marquez was retired after losing to Bradley, but he fought Alvarado. Still the way he looked against alvarado, he could have given Manny a great right and he was still sharp enough to tango with Porter. Both would have been thrilling fights. At this stage, Marquez would edge the Hornet. Yup, even at this stage he should still be able to edge out a victory and get that belt

Agree 100% with you man When Pacquiao got the belt back from Bradley that would've been a great time to go for that belt. Porter I think would've been a bit much for him. Agreed, no reason to have fought Alvarado. Horn IS tailor made but it should still be a fight he could/should win. Marquez wanted that fifth division belt so badly, i dont know why he didn't go after Pacquiao, or a Bradley rematch, or even Porter when he was the IBF champion. He would sometimes choose the wrong fights and he wasted his time on mike Alvarado. He's probably too far gone to fight horn, but horn is tailor made for Marquez. He does better against pressure fighters. Horn isnt even at the level of Juan Diaz sort of fighter. When Pacquiao got the belt back from Bradley that would've been a great time to go for that belt. Marquez is retired and he is very old. At this point in time he isn't as good as the much younger Pacquiao who is pretty damn old himself. For example Bradley beat Marquez and then lost by a wide margin to Pacquiao. In reality Pacquiao clearly beat Horn but got robbed in spite of Horn being allowed to fight an extremely dirty fight. Horn isn't very good and needs a helpful referee and paid off judges to beat any good fighter. Even today's very old and far past prime Marquez could beat Horn on neutral ground with fair officials. Pacquiao landed double the amount of punches that Horn did and he is the harder puncher. He almost KOed Horn in the 9th. How in the hell can he land twice as many punches and not win? It was a real bad robbery. Horn is fighting a guy ranked 70th by boxrec with his hometown built in advantage. He will win that fight. Then he must fight Crawford and Crawford will knock him out in front of his hometown fans.

Marquez is old and shot, he made the right call to retire. He can't even make it through training camp without injuring himself. Even if he could, he doesn't want to come back just to lose a gift decision to Horn.

id still favour marquez even at his age. horn isnt much good and hes completely tailor made for marquez, couldnt be any better stylistically I can see Horn stumbling into the same bomb Pacquiao fell into. exactly, I wonder why they don't try to make this fight. Marquez wouldn't even need to chase Horn. This would be the easiest route to snatching that 147 belt. Once Crawford gets it, Marquez's window surely will be closed on getting another belt because no way he's beating Crawford/Thurman/Spence.

Marquez knows how to handle rough fighters better then Pac. That’s always been Pac’s Achilles heel even in his prime.

Dinamita is in his mid 40s and hasn't fought in almost 4 years, Horn is a hungry, prime and good champion. It's a mismatch at this stage, Marquez is too far gone.
