GGG
Lara
Trout
Chavez Jr
Kirkland
Angulo
Cotto
Not bad at all for a 27 year old
He’s 27 but for a Mexican that’s his prime he won’t be very good by 30.
GGG - Draw
Lara - Lol I remember you complaining about Canelo's win there so don't even try
Trout - Good win
Chavez Jr - Not a good opponent, weight drained
Kirkland - Not a good opponent, ring rust
Angulo - Not a good opponent, Canelo changed the weight limit last minute
Cotto - Good win
Khan - Not a good opponent
Not bad at all for a 27 year old
So with 50+ fights he's had 2 good wins and if you really want to stretch it, 3 good wins.
Mayweather

I fixed that for you, you forgot a name cuz we all know Canelo didn't beat GGG. I also added some names for posterity.
I say B+(+).
In the thread I made 10 minutes before you made this, in which you posted twice before running off after I rebutted your points, you said the following:
So you literally went from telling me I can't add Canelo to Golovkin's resume, because of the draw.....
to making a thread about Canelo's resume, with GGG the first name on it.
How does this work?
Lmao good one.
Personally I think Canelos resume is vastly overrated. However he has displayed skills well above his resume.
Looks better than it is. The ginger kid is a very good fighter, but his resume is smoke and mirrors in part... some very debatable results in there - he's kinda lucky just to have the one L.
And Angulo? Kirkland? Khan? The names might be well known but there's context to this sh1t - none of them were really special wins at the time and weights the fights took place
Benefits of having a promoter with some clout and being able to pay for the right opponents. As I always like to point out resume is as much (or possibly more) about opportunity as it is about ability.
Still good though - indeed one of the best in the sport, especially for his age - but it ain't quite as good as it looks at a glance.
Canelo has a great resume, one of the best in boxing today.
A win is a win. I'd rate it A- (A+ if his wins were a little more convincing)
Can't count the GGG fight though, apparently many people saw it as a close fight while I felt it was a clear GGG victory - but I'll live with a draw - whatever. Have to get used to this in boxing... The only decision I count as a win despite it being an official loss is Pac-Bradley I.
GGG - He lost here
Lara - Should have been a draw
Trout - Should have been much closer, perhaps even a win for Trout
Chavez - Nowhere near fit to fight in that weight range
Kirkland - Coming off a 18 month lay-off
Angulo - Way past his prime
Cotto - Way past his prime, and also a close fight.
Excuses

Angulo, Mosley, Kirkland, Mayweather, Khan , Cotto etc he has fought good names but I don't think he has fought anyone at their prime apart from Lara and Trout.
I have the same thoughts
In terms of just quality of opposition, I'd say it's the deepest of any current fighter other than Pacquiao. Mayweather, Lara, Trout, Cotto, Chavez Jr, Golovkin... that's some dam list of names.
But considering how those fights actually went you have to take him down a peg. Still a top 10 p4p fighter for sure.
He would be #1 in the world right now though if he had a clear W over GGG

Not bad if he didn't have controversial wins and scorecards. I can't respect that. He lost to Golovkin.
Ca$hnelo has a hell of a resume. This is how I rank his best wins:
1. Borat
2. Miguel Cotto
3. Austin Trout
4. Erislandy Lara
5. Shane Mosley
6. Amir Khan
7. James Kirkland
8. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
9. Miguel Vazquez (second fight)
10. Liam Smith
And that's not even mentioning solid wins like Alfredo Angulo, Kermit Cintron, Carlos Baldomir, Luciano Cuello, Lovemore Ndou, Ryan Rhodes, Matthew Hatton and Alfonso Gomez.
How did he beat GGG? By getting a draw?
