more skilled = running around like a mamaluke?
Mmmm. And there was me thinking the Mamluks were a caste of fearsome slave warriors... the iron fist of expansionist Islam at the height of it's powers. Luckily for me a few clicks and something called 'the urban dictionary' quickly slapped me down. God bless the interweb.
Parker just about won it. Hughie performed like a low level Tyson Fury wannabe for a lot of the fight but he did have some effective moments which showed his potential, just nowhere near enough success to win the fight. Parker was the one who made the fight but was almost as equally ineffective as Hughie for most the duration. In fact he performed like a low level David Tua wannabe in some ways. This fight was just a case of Parker's ineffectiveness and lack of success being slightly more impressive than Hughie's ineffectiveness and lack of success.
I don't care about either Guy but Fury Winning would have been a Terrible advert for Boxing.
Can you imagine if every Boxer decided to fight like Hughie Fury? Even a Hardcore fan like me would stop watching Boxing!
The biggest shame is that Andy Ruiz Jr didn't get himself into better shape as he would have easily beat Parker and Fury.
Hughie Fury reminds me of Kevin Johnson. He's tall, got a decent jab and skills but doesn't engage, runs and plays defense. And, yeah, he's a bore to watch...
no clue how you can score a fight for someone that was running a marathon popping a weak jab. doing 0 damage in the process.
ring generalship - Parker
activity - Parker
damage - Parker
it wasn't even close tbh
Had it the same as the two sane judges, though I could see giving Fury another 2 rounds as some of the early ones were tight. Fury looked more like the proper boxer, but he missed a ton and didn't have anything on his punches. Also, you can't ignore Parker's consistent body work.
