Check out this 10 second sequence from 0:10 of the first round against Curtis Stevens. Watch the explosiveness in GGG's right hands, his feints, everything. The speed, the snap, specifically the left hook to Stevens' guard at 0:07 and the right hand to his head to end the round. There is no delay, just BOOM. Contrast that to his recent fights, and it's like there's a hitch, or a delay, in his right hand. His hooks like wingy, like loose noodles, with no snap, no explosiveness.
What do you think? To my eyes, I don't see this same fighter anymore, and I haven't truly since the Lemieux fight. He started to decline around 32 years of age, just like most other offensive fighters, and now he's 35. Post your thoughts!
Explosiveness isn't set in stone and isn't forever. There would come a time when physically its noit there.
But I guess yoiu csant be as explosive when you got other things to worry about and worry about what's coming back at you.
I'm sure GGG can still beat bejesus out of heavybag
My mistake. You were talking GGG just tapping guys and knocking them out. Same answer. GGG wasn't tapping them, he was blasting them. He was knocking guys flying through the air. He was NOt tapping them. If GGG's power is gone why was iron jawed Canelo running so much and what was Jacobs doing on the canvas? Kovalev and GGG hit hard because they are born punchers with fast punches thrown correctly not because of a Russian steroid that turns taps into bombs.
Canelo was running because he was tired, whenever they exchanged in the center of the ring he was gaining the edge.
It is likely a combination of wear and tear with over 400 fights to his pro and amateur resume and that he is fighting better competition in his last three fights. I see him fighting another year or two and that is it. Hopefully unify with Saunders and rematch Canelo.
I'm staring to think GGG and Kovalev were on that Russian drug that was banned. Kovalev was a monster than when that stuff was banned he went 12 rounds with some chump than lost to Ward twice even though I had him winning fight one 114 to 113. GGG was just tapping guys and they would fall now he goes 12 rounds twice
Ive also suspected this, to me no doubt GGG has declined the past 2-3 years. Either its age, or hes not on the **** he was on. Or maybe even both, but i have no doubt he isnt the same fighter anymore.
i am shocked so many boxers think ggg clearly won! even the ones who are counter punchers and fight off the backfoot claim ggg was robbed!
I have canelo round 4, ggg did nothing but landed 1 clean left hook and while canelo landed 3 hooks to the body and some jabs!
have it 8-4 canelo currently, he really exceeded expectations and put on a great performance but it is being overshadowed by the hbo and rocky movie brainwashing programming!
Ggg's trainer failed him and even admitted if it went to the final bell that it's their fault!...lol
... Ok.......................................
Different level of opponent, last few fights been against top shelf so everything changes.
so kell brook was a top shelf opponent for a pound for pound ranked middleweight? are you high, and do you want to pass that sh#t to your homie NE?
golovkin is on the decline. been saying that for a while now. most fighters are when they're in their mid 30's especially when your idea of defense can be reduced to taking punches on your forehead.
I am very confused how the masses believe GGG won when I saw Ca$hnelo outbox the guy, move effectively, land the cleaner punches/counter-punches, and defend beautifully.
The only thing GGG did better than Ca$h was jab, come forward all night, and eat punches with his face.
GGG is like a younger Margarito...nothing special there. And Ca$h won that fight 115-113 and maybe even 116-112.
Ca$h won 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12 for certain. Other rounds are more debatable

I saw no adjustments from Golovkin and or informational instructions from Sanchez between the rounds!
All GGG did was hastine his approach and ate more shots!
I ask these GGG fans look at both fighters face post fight, who would you rather be they tell me...i rather be the guy with the belts still! LOL
Everyone gets older and that brings slower reactions on all fronts.
The bottom line is that he just won two fights against younger "prime" boxers who are international talents!
He WON! If you think he lost those bouts you need to reconsider your judging abilities.
Instead of knocking this guy people should applaud his efferts and willingness to compete & win.
All fighters get old at different ages no one is the same.
After an amateur career amassing 400 bouts then a pro career with 35+ a 35 year old with over 430 fights WILL get old and begin to decline.
So if he is declining he just beat two prime younger men!!
He deserves credit not bashing, some on this forum need to stop the fan bias baby crap and grow up!
Ray
He was explosive against Brook though. I think he's packed a bit of weight on his last two fights and that made him a little slower.
... the Brook fight was one time "grab the money" and run... this is supposed to be a "rematch"... :)

Not out of the question of course, either that or they just can't deal with the big moment as well as the the American and Latin fighters.
Come on say it, the proof is in the pudding!
I know you want to say GGG got old over nite by the way Canelo was making him eat hard clean punches like tapioca pudding!
That's what the difference between fighting bums, car washers, laundry mat workers and fighters on house arrest and guys who actually are dedicated to the sport and bring world championship.level experience in the ring!
Who looked more like who and you'll get the answer of who won the fight actually and who actually got robbed!
