Was there a backdoor deal put in place we didn't know about?
GGG throwed 3 body shots to Canelo body in which we all know that's one of his trademark punches...
Any thoughts?
Laughing at people here with no clue what they watching. If he could go to the body he would of. Canelo hand speed and countering made him abandon body shots. If he threw them he was leaving himself vulnerable to canelos counters. It's easy to say just throw more body shots when you ain't in the ring. GGG had difficulty landing anything clean all night and was made to miss badly and scared to throw any body shots. Canelos skillset did that he was worried about what was coming back at him.
It's called tactics, GGG knew Canelo would try an counter him if he went to the body and given Canelo's superior hand speed it was a legit concern. GGG did attempt some body shots later on in the fight when Canelo was visibly tired
it's like saying why did GGG throw that looping right hand when he was getting countered all night. he didn't care and kept throwing it.
he could've thrown body shots but he purposely abandoned it.

Was GGG instructed to not go to the body
May be

Unlikely
I watched the fight already knowing he didn't go to the body. Noticed just one time he lost a moment to punch to the liver. All other time he was not in the range for body attacks. So it was the tactics, I believe..
He was scared to get countered up stairs. He knew he would get countered every time
It ain't rocket science he was scared to get countered by canelo so abandoned body shots.
People will say that he was 'afraid' to get countered but that's BS, it's one of GGG's main focus and he oddly abandoned it. When Canelo was fatigued on the ropes it would have been the best thing to do but GGG was hesitant in general. Huge tactical mistake from his part.
In boxing you can't always do the things you originally wanted to do. The opportunity didn't present itself. It was easy with his past opponents because it was there.

Wtf is "throwed"?
It was probably a smart move not to. Canelo would have got more counters off.
We saw them score rounds for Canelo that he clearly didn't win. They would have given him even more if GGG give him more chances to counter.
I think he didn't want to get countered up stairs. Same as to why he didn't rush in when Canelo was on the ropes, due to Canelo being a real good counter puncher.
Canelo looked to fatigue somewhat in the middle rounds when GGG stepped up the pressure. It would of been interesting to have seen how some body work would have added to that.
