Stamina is 100% genetic just like punching power and "chin" and almost everything else in boxing. You can't train it. You can run as much as you want you wont improve your stamina much, it's a fact
Bingo! Even if he could, it would take years for him to be better at going the distance and what not. You can't just train for stamina in one training camp and expect not to gas. That takes years to build world class stamina.
The stamina problems are real
that is the name of the game for boxing....too big of gloves prolong the fight and its really just a battle of who can out cardio who
we never find out who the best fighter is and y'all are constantly *****ing about score cards because SIZE of gloves and retarded rules
Golovkin has a huge engine, and he is relentless.
Canelo got tired because he was having to set his feet to counter with very little time, it's a lot of pressure when a guy like Golovkin is right in your face for 12 rounds.
Canelo just can't hit on the move, he can move well enough but not counter at the same time.
I thought it was a good fight, and I also think Canelo was a bit surprised when Golovkin upped the intensity after the first 3 rounds.
Golovkin will only get better strategically from this fight onward, if the rematch is made! (This is a trait that most of the great Russian/Soviet fighters have! There are alot of things Golovkin could do different, but the same cannot be said for Canelo Alvarez! But fairplay to Alvarez, I did not think he was going to last the distance!)...
You also said earlier that he was expected to be fresher because he was younger. Flawed logic. Myth. 35 isn't 60.
Stop clinging to the outdated myth that fighters fall off a cliff after 30. That's only for fighters who don't take care of themselves, and for fighters who are in constant wars and take tons of damage in every fight, and the latter, it's the body breaking down due to punishment, unrelated to age.
Also what in the flying phuck would possess you to consider Canelo the more conditioned fighter? If you know anything about both fighters you know that Canelo has always had conditioning problems, Golovkin the opposite.
Literally nothing to back up the claim that Canelo is the more conditioned fighter. Nothing at all.
Oh yeah I look at age in regards to boxing, I look at someone who is 27 and expect him to be well conditioned and fresher than a 35 year old, that's me.... So yeah I expect Canelo to be in a better condition down the stretch.
I regard Canelo the younger fighter the more conditioned fighter going into this fight..:boxing:

Red K coming when I can drop karma again for saying something so stupid in your title.
You're clearly a teenager, 35 is a man's prime and there is no conditioning drop off. I'm north of 30 and am supremely conditioned and could go 12 at a high work rate. You're clearly not an athlete.
Age is not a factor unless the gap is extreme and even then, it's more about health, nutrition and training. Educate yourself then come back and apologize.
just lol @ implying that 35 is old.
False. You expect the more conditioned fighter to be fresher. Regardless of age.

That's absolutely right. You would expect the younger guy to be fresher but saying that Canelo won most of the late rounds.
False. You expect the more conditioned fighter to be fresher. Regardless of age.

Exactly. Some people are built to be what they are. 99.9% of us could run miles every day of our life, but we're just not made to be a marathon runner. Same as sprinting or anything else.
Boxing is no different, it's just that it's a sport that relies on many attributes but it's no different. Different guys are just built for different things. You can never truly be something you're not in boxing.
GGG has great stamina and has been an olympic level athlete since he was practically a teenager. Which is great, but stamina didn't win him this fight. He managed to take a lot of punishment but that's about all he can be praised for.
Stamina was the deciding factor in this fight and appears to be Canelo's Achilles heel. Not sure if can do anything about it for the rematch. Golovkin was relentless and tireless even after taking some big shots. Canelo better wait a couple more years for the next one :)
He's always had bad stamina, some guys just do. I think with some guys they can train for stamina as much as possible and maybe improve it but never really get it to a great standard, it's just the way their body is. Same as anything else really. You can probably train to punch harder or improve speed ever so slightly, but you cannot train those things be something you are not.
Everyones body has limitations, just in different ways.

This is nothing new, he's shown signs of weak stamina for years now. I was shocked that GGG didn't focus on exploiting it as much when Canelo has his lulls and sits on the ropes, GGG was too hesitant, even Floyd let his hands go when Canelo took his breaks.
Chris Eubank Junior even with his deficiency in punching power, beats both Canelo Alaverz & Genneddy Golovkin! (I think Golovkin wins the rematch against Alvarez, and then a massive stadium fight in England or Russia beckons!)...
I give GGG some credit. He baited Canelo into throwing some huge shots early which he caught some with his arms and elbows. Canelo threw bombs early and you could tell when he missed them even he knew they were sapping him of stamina.
It's his weakness. If somehow he could improve his stamina significantly he could be an all time great.
Said it would happen. GGG broke him down mentally and physically. GGG staggered him two or three times, stopped him dead in his tracks and I think GGG was taking it easy on him. 9-3, easy work.
imagine Canelo's stamina at 35....Good point. Imagine a 27 year old GGG against a 35 year old Canelo. It would be homicide. There isnt a single Canelo fan on the planet that would pick Canelo in this arrangement.
