I've never heard anyone give people more credit for doing nothing. He's so enamored with the slickness and little nuisances sometimes that he can't see what's right in his face happening . All he's been talking about is Estrada taking a step back for 2 rounds now meanwhile He's getting lit up by the pimple backed little fella.
And a side note, I really like whoever was calling the Usyk-Huck fight on the official stream. That
Guy called the fight as it was happening, not interjecting what he likes to see in the ring.
LMFAO. I've never seen that, but as a fan of Bunce its not surprising in the least.
And I'm a fan of Max, but yea that HBO announcing of a fight is some of the worst announcing at the high levels in boxing that there is. They got their own lil narrative that they seem to try to go out of their way to spin & they don't just call the f#cking fight. Thats all I give a f#ck about is the fight.
Thats why I wish they had alternate commentary options to choose from or even a silence option where you could just hear the fight + crowd sounds & it muted out the commentary completely. And thats why streaming live sports is gonna be huge in 5-10 years cuz it'll give mfers more choice & fun in how they watch sports.
There was some classic moments on Setanta, and from Steve Bunce back in the day! (He holds himself back slightly on boxnation these days, I have not actually watched his boxing hour for many months!)....
I am a supporter of Max Kellerman more with his pre-fight analysis, most commentators and journalist these days in my opinion can't really fully express themselves during fights! (There is always a agenda!).
But saying that? Steve Bunce is one of the very few that does not ever follow any agenda! (That is why Sky Sports don't like him!)...
Sky commentators both had Estrada winning 117-110, they were shocked when they heard HBO had Cuadras up 5-1 after 6 rounds.
The Sky Commentators are some of the worst scorers in the world. Either that are they need to put down the bottle before scoring the fights. 117-110 for either man would have been a highway robbery.
I think anything outside of 114-113 for either man is a bad scorecard. This was a really easy fight to score.
The whole HBO team is trash. Max can be good one day and terrible the next. Like on First Take, one day he's totally on point, he next day he'll say something just totally nonsensical. But hey it's entertainment I guess. HBO are just cheerleaders and First Take is basically two guys just arguing about something they don't truly believe in, but they do it to get people attention and make headlines etc.
HBO guys arent sht compared to Al Beristain and the crew at Showtime.
I always loved listening to Al bernstein and steve farhood. These two guys are real experts and call it without bias.
in one of the fights he said ward hurt kov to the body then went after him to finish him......cept that never happened. ward hurt kov with a head shot and then when after him with body low blows but there was never any legit body shot that hurt kovalev as confirmed on video. every time kov reacted he was hit low. he must have been referring to hte low blows as legit body punches? did his mind make up an alternate reality? a fanboy with a platform is a dangerous thing to spread his propaganda.
HBO was obviously in the tank for Cuadras. They ignored just about all of Estrada's excellent work early and his impressive work as the rds went on. I am surprised HBO did not just ignore the knockdown and talk over it about how Estradas is not doing enough. For example, Estrada wobbled Cuadras with a right had just before the end of the 9th rd (same punch he knocked him down) and HBO refused to call it.
Sky commentators both had Estrada winning 117-110, they were shocked when they heard HBO had Cuadras up 5-1 after 6 rounds.
hbo boxing as a whole is done.. the whole network gives off an elitist vibe
Indeed.
Also, if anybody wants to talk about watching fights with the sound off to get a different perspective, i urge them to watch Bradley v Pacquiao I. HBO's commentary was absolutely awful that night, they called everything Manny did as landing when it was mostly hitting gloves and they stayed absolutely silent for Bradley's work.
That fight was much closer than Pacquiao fans want to admit. I probably had him winning but the decision could have really gone either way. That is one fight that genuinely skewed what people were seeing because of the commentary.

I think it was Ronald McIntosh. He often covers the boxing in the Olympics on British TV too and some other stuff like ITV boxing.
Some people don't like his voice for commentating but i find he's usually spot on with what's happening in the ring.
Here is a old video of Steve Bunce getting angry with Max Kellermen, me personally I think Max Kellerman is alright! But when he first started out? I did find him slight annoying, since the he has come into his own game!
Kellerman had 2 questions about the fake narrative he pushed from first sor roman fight about it being controversial. The guy jus iced roman and 2 out of 4 questions is about that. Disgraceful and he does it because he is arrogant and cant admit he was wrong for telling the world he was number 1 p4p
Kellerman is intelligent and good with words, but he has his head up his ass more and more lately.
He seems to come into fights with this very narrow viewpoint, and is not willing to look outside of it.
He wants any fight where a guy is behind and taking light damage stopped (comebacks and grit be damned).
"There is no such thing as a good chin, only guys who don't get hit."
