Pretty boy Floyd was one the most exciting fighters I've ever seen.
Super 6 Ward as well.
Both get unnecessary flack for being boring, but they're only boring to one dimensional boxing fans.
Floyd's style is more aesthetically pleasing to watch. Ward is more like Hopkins in that he will get inside and get his shots in that way, but some prefer seeing that.
He fought like a boxer-puncher against Corrales and Gatti, he applied pressure to Mosley, Judah and at times Canelo and he mixed it up inside against Hatton, Cotto and Maidana. You don't have to find him exciting but he most certainly was versatile, more so than Ward even
Exactly, Mayweather way more versatile and exciting than Ward. That dude dksab
I'll give you Hatton, in my opinion one of Floyd's best showings and did adapt style in the ring. My remark is that Floyd is an in/out defensive boxer, he's not going to change and become a puncher/boxer or pressure boxer. He may sit down on punches and counter with opponents but that is within his style. The question was which is more exciting fighter, one option was both are boring. There are moments of excitement in both fighters, both are winners and undefeated but that doesn't make them exciting but they are effective.

I don't suppose you could grow up and try to dispute what I actually said? If you don't like the low shots, then I guess you're also worked up about the rabbit punches? Of course not. You're just pissed that you talked so much shyt and ended up looking like a clown.
Like I said, Ward and May have cause some major diaper rash among fans who get cranky when things don't go their way.
There's nothing to dispute. Ward did hit Kovalev below the belt multiple times and the one low blow especially, had the direct impact on the fight as the fight was stopped after it.
You can throw tantrums as much as you want but what I said is true and have the videos to prove it.
Ward is a dirty fighter and have used his illegal tactics such as low blows, headbutts and excessive holding multiple times in his career and has been rightfully critized for it.
Did the ref grab Ward's hand and hit Kovalev below the belt multiple times with it?

You made a lot of good points there. These two fighters have cause a tremendous rash of butthurt among boxing fans, particularly casual fans. They somehow get blamed for what the opponents, refs, and judges do. It's as bad as people who trashed Golovkin because Jacobs and Brook came to fight.
Like you said though, if you're a boxing fan, you probably at least have respect for both.

Really? So you think Floyd's approach to Hatton was the same as his approach to De La Hoya? In fact he showed Hatton several different looks just within that one fight. Or how about the two Maidana fights and two Castillo fights? There was a clear adaptation on Floyd's part between the first and second legs of each of those rivalries I'll give you Hatton, in my opinion one of Floyd's best showings and did adapt style in the ring. I think Mayweather is better at adapting than Ward. Also, Mayweather's reaction and timing is better. They're both fun to watch but I would favor Mayweather. Ward has made me a fan because of his ability to negate his opponents strengths. Mayweather will impose his will despite what his opponents are doing.
Floyd's skill set and style makes it boring but effective. Ward's thinking and adapting style in the ring makes it boring, mainly because he's never faced an opponent multi-dimensional enough to adapt with him. Floyd's style is set and he's going to win or lose with it, Ward is going to find whatever he needs to win.

I mean if you enjoy boxing you probably like both guys. Their styles are very different and people complain as if Kovalev 2 was boring, but that's mostly because "their guy" got stopped. People also say Floyd's Canelo fight or Manny fight were boring, but that's because Floyd beat them convincingly without needing much action (landing potshots from the outside, etc.). It's not Ward's or Floyd's fault that their opponents haven't made it a fight (for the most part). Kovalev 1 could go either way and same with JLC 1.

As a technique junkie, I've always been more interested in watching Ward because there's generally more diversity, adaption, and sometimes aggression to his game. Floyd is tighter, more fluid, and what he does, he does incredibly well. I've just always been a bit bored by him. No disrespect to his talent. I rarely go back and watch Floyd fights but there's several Ward fights that are classics for me and he just created another one last month.
this post made me lol alot. ty sir.
As for the thread, mayweather is boring, but he's more skilled & less boring than ward who is one of the most overrated & dirtiest guys in boxing.
Mayweather was an artist in his prime. His picture perfect technique was underpinned by a god given athleticism that is not present in Ward's game. Ward is more of a hustler, like Hopkins
Neither one is very exciting, but floyd had some good fights early in his career and had boxing 'figured out' by later career -- in the sense of doing just enough to win and taking no risks.
I get nothing at all from watching ward anymore. He's the dirtiest ever. You take away his dirty/borderline illegal **** and there's nothing there, he's average at best in every category.
