golovkin fought 90 percentile top contenders like Lemiuex and Jacobs. never was rocked or kissed the canvas. compare him to a slick fighter like rigondeux who got floored by absolute bums 5 times in his career with half the fights. just lol Yup imagine all the criticism ggg would get if he got dropped by a unranked bum from japan. Yet rigo gets dropped and he's top 5 p4p derp.

Golovkin is not going to win a fight on the back foot fighting defensively or get in close making a guy miss to do a ton of work. He has a good jab which can be a form of defense and he can win fights with that. When mixed with some other defensive moves he can do alright if not pressed or if he is not throwing a ton of power shots. He is an offensive fighter though so defense is not something he is really focused on and as such his offense is generally his best form of defense if he can get guys worried about his offense they will be doing less offensively. Like any really good fighter he knows how to use his strengths to make up for areas that are not as good or as focused on. It might eventually be an issue but who knows when someone will really take advantage in a meaningful way because it is much easier said than done.

Seems like we always fight when it comes to Golovkin. But time is a great teacher Foxx, in two years you'll be talking great things about Golovkin :) What "great things" do you think will be talked about? His best win was vs a B level Jacobs and the rest of his career all he did was beg for a canelo fight? He's not gonna move up and fight ward or even someone at 168...sooooo, what are these great things?

GGG's defense isn't master tier, but it's not bad considering how much pressure he puts on opponents

Are you saying he has bad defense or are you pretending I said it? I don't think he's outright "bad", but he really doesn't mind his defense all that much. He'd rather eat shots to position himself to lay down power. When he's against a strong puncher, you see his defense come out more. It's not something he naturally excels in though. Lol. Why are fans so insecure that they need to pretend their fighter excels at EVERYTHING?? He's got the boxing defense of any world champion. You have to have some all-around basics or you don't make it to that level. He ain't slick or even particularly good when it comes to defense. Everyone knows this.
