Canelo-GGG Purse split is 70/30 in favor of Canelo..
Not sure if there was a thread already about this but I got to know the split only through the below interviews..
@1:10
@0:20
Golovkin went from "I wanna unify MW" and turning down a fight for 10m vs Saunders for the last belt to taking a mere 30% vs Canelo.
"My dream is to unify doe!"
:lol1:
I think he deserved atleast 60/40. 70/30 is still good for him though. I guess all those morons that said GGG prices himself out feel really stupid right now.
but but but golovkin prices himself out of the big fights doe.....
actually he never said 70-30 was the split, they cant even talk about it...
but 70-30 is a pretty good deal for him imo, that aint no chump money... thats great considering he cant sell ppvs the way canelo can...
I think 70 / 30 or 65 /35 was pretty much where the smart money was. I predicted roughly that split on here (or at least said I thought that would be reasonable). And 50 / 50 was never on the cards - there's an interview from Loeffler from late 2015 where he clearly acknowledges that they had accepted Canelo would get 'the lion's share' of the money.
I also very much doubt GGG makes $15 mil though. I don't think this PPV will do close to some of the wildly optimistic predictions for it.
I honestly think win, lose, or draw, that golovkin may retire after this fight, unless it does happen to do a whole lot of ppvs....with Floyd vs McGregor? I am going to say canelo's fight does 500k max...call me crazy.
So much for 50/50....i find it hard to believe golovkin will make even the 15 million based on this
