Because the people who set the odds think Canelo has a solid chance to win. You are mainly remembered by your last fight. GGG had a bad night against Jacobs although I think he clearly won. But everybody is used to him winning by KO. Canelo looked great slaughtering Chavez. GGG is 35 and Canelo is 26. That is a big advantage for Canelo. I think GGG will win but I'm not sure enough to bet money on him to win. They are my two favorite boxers. I think they will both fight well on put on a great fight.
The timing for me. 18 months ago I wouldn't have picked Canelo, but I can see he is developing nicely and now for me he wins this without too much fuss.
Canelo is more than just "very skilled". He's 10 years younger, he's strong, his stamina is off the carts, his durability so far is unquestionable, his hand speed is much faster and his technique is sublime. Some of the combos that Canelo throws are absolutely gorgeous.
It's a 50/50 fight. Don't be surprised if Canelo is a slight favorite as the fight gets closer.
Just wrote this before I saw your post. Good point.
What makes you say GGG is more talented? Canelo has more layers to his game. I'm not sure why he gets stereotyped as some mexican puncher. He's really not.
To me, this is 50/50 at this point in time.

Because in case of close fight, they will give the W to Canelo. Of course.
Don't cry...
It's a hard prediction to make on their last couple fights. The Golovkin that fought Brook would have problems with Canelo. The Canelo that fought Beefy would have problems with Golovkin.
