Kind of sad. Ward fans are on the defense trying to justify a debatable win by posting partial gif's of the fight and redefining what is on the belt vs borderline. Just take the W and be thankful your guy won. The truth is after Kovalev got rocked with the right hand he wobbled but he still threw a punch right after. It was the consecutive low blows that kept Kovalev from throwing back causing a premature stoppage by the ref. No need to defend or show clips of the fight in your favor. Looks petty
seriously. if the winning fan base cant rag on the losers (good-natured ribbing if course), then whats the point ?
It's like all these guys were members of Kovalev's team or something.

you are blind if you don't recognize that this is a low blow.
ward's pretty obviously the better fighter of the two, had all the momentum in the world, and was looking like he might get the stoppage. but let's not be blind little kids because of our biases. that fight ended on a serious of low blows. ward had been fouling all night and is one of the dirtier p4p fighters in a while.
let's see you earn abck my respect after your complete lack of understanding of what repeated fouling looks like and the impact it had on the fight. you don't excuse low blows because one guy is better than the other, or because you like him.
It's embarrassing seeing them defend that.
Exactly. I actually gave Ward credit for his performance. But Ward fans need to acknowledge the low blows at the end.
People arguing about the final punch not being a low blow are just cringeworthy.
It's ironic they love calling Ward a coward but it turned out to be Kovalev. Who went up in weight to face one of the hardest punchers in the sport? While the other won't go near one let alone up a division.
Who talked all that shyt on social media but scared to look the man face to face and running out of pressers.
After all the crying he gets his rematch and doesn't even put up fight. Looks for every opportunity to quit. Turning his back looking at the ref for help.
Ward didn't whine about rabbit punches he kept fighting harder. And put his azz on queer street. But I thought he slap like a girl.
Ward solidified his legacy and will always have my respect. None of his detractors can take that away. Instead of crying and making excuses dare your fighter to be great like Ward
The Ward detractors have to be some of the most weak minded people I've seen as of late. lol
theyre just floyd detractors/ pac golovkin fans....its the same thing...we see them every day really
Not a ward fan and i don't see any reason whatsoever to justify anything. I dont think him or his fans need to justify anything at all. He won plain and simple, the first fight however is a total different story.
I picked Ward to win the rematch by four rounds or so. It doesn't change that the fight should not have been stopped because of an accumulation of illegal punches.
... people here know how much I disliked Ward in the past...
... Kovaliov signed his own "death sentence" long ago: so, he should have been better prepared for his "own execution"...

Why are you showing one borderline low blow and passing it off as "repeated" fouling?
Show me the repeated fouling, not one questionable punch.
... and I remember Lucas not being on the queer street at any moment during that fight!...
(look, man: On Saturday, I put money on Kovaliov winning! :) don't explain me what I watched...)

Which fouls? Show them to me.
The only fouls I saw was Kovalev's constant rabbit punching.
And lol the only shot I saw put Kovalev on queer street was a right hand to the jaw that had him wanting out of the fight.
And yea i'm surprised a bunch of casuals fell for Kovalev's acting. You're not making a good case for them.

I'm no video editor and I'm not particularly interested in dissecting blurry frames on youtube anyway. I saw low punches both live and on a replay, so did a lot of observers that weren't mere casual fans or white supremacists. There aren't great angles of every punch Ward threw against Kovalev against the ropes, but all three looked spectacularly low and the third, which HBO replayed a few times, certainly was. That we're even resorting to frame by frame discussions shows there was plenty of reasonable doubt about whether those punches were legal in the first place.
I have no interest in seeing the fight overturned, I agree that the stoppage was inevitable. The stoppage we got was bad.
i don't think any ward fan gives a crap about justifying a win that kovalov got banged out in against the ropes.
it's more trolling and gloating if anything. kovalov fans have made it a POINT to lie and manipulate how the fight went due to their a**hole being hurt. their guy broke down mentally. (can't accept it) belt line shots have been grossly exaggerated into full on nut shots constantly for 8 rounds. of course i am about to troll and irritate the living sh*t out of u LOL can't talk sense with someone who has an agenda of being hurt & willing to turn the fight how ever they would like to see it to sleep better at night,
anyway gotta go. got some more FUDGE boys to hack.
if the same sequence happened to the other guy you'd be calling them low blows. and you know it. a lot of you know it. but you have no shame.
Great. He put Kovalev away by stopping him with a series of foul shots. That's the takeaway of many observers that, believe it or not, did not have a stake in this fight.

Ward fans you are better off taking the W then justifying it. | BoxingScene Community
