I have genuinely never been so happy. This tops Foyd-Pac, Floyd-Hatton, Dre-Kovalev and everything in between. I believed in Spence, I spoke up for Spence, I advocated for Spence and though I got **** for it I never waivered in my belief in him. Congratulations Errol Spence....you are the TRUTH!!!
I didn't see two elite fighters in the ring tonight though
I think Welterweight is disgustingly overrated. Its as if people haven't realised that Mayweather has gone, and Pacquiao is cashing out.
Thurman and Spence are good, but I think we need to re-evaluate the division
I agree. Congrats to Spence for coming to UK and taking the title but man, it was a sloppy fight. Clean punches were few and far between and Spence missed a lot of punches. The WW division has been weak for a while, but it gets hyped by the fanboy boxing writers.

Congrats mate, your boy proved himself well tonight. Spence is the truth. Bull****ter brits who wanna downplay his performace (im british) can suck a fat one.
Not going to lie I laughed hard at this.
Still there were many Spence detractors over his prospect years saying he would not amount to much because he got hit too much, or he wasn't flashy enough, or they just didn't see anything special in him. I never got what those people were seeing because I was seeing what looked like a blue chipper but not everyone agreed.
Lol I know, I'm just busting his balls. But yeah, this kid was/is obviously a bad ass.
Really dude? You're proud that you believed in a kid that OBVIOUSLY has talent dripping out of his ears lmao. That's like me saying I'm so proud in believing in Kevin Durant all these years. I knew he'd be a great ball player.

Nothing quite like the feeling. I remember the Rigod vs Donaire fight + the aftermath like it was yesterday.
On the other side of the coin i remember my boy Lucas losing to Danny Garcia and his retarded hype man father.
The ups and downs of boxing. Enjoy it while it lasts. I hope Spence goes on to do more than Rigo did :lol1:

You are so happy you finally have a black fighter thats half as good and exciting as GGG? Damn just imagine you were an openminded boxing fan, you could have enjoyed that a feeling many many times a long time ago.
Why are you so obsessed with race? Projection much? I have been a GGG fan before you even started posting on these boards. I am happy because I believed in him since the 2012 Olympics and he proved me right. Like usual.
Spence was the hungrier fighter. Brook was happy just being the opponent when he fought Golovkin. If you did it once, you'll easily resort to just being the opponent when things get tough. Spence is going to be hard to beat with his calm demeanor, his hunger, and his confidence.

It's the same reason I though Julian Williams would beat Charlo. I underestimated that Charlo just became champ, and he was just as hungry to stay on top.
Kell showed his worth as well. How he came on after the Knockdown is the stuff of legends. Great great fight.
talent is great you see it all the time though and pretty much anyone who gets a bit of shine has the talent. Guy that will to keep their nose to the grindstone constantly working hard honing their craft is the rarest of traits. You never know how long a guy can keep that up, because that sort of greed for success is insanely rare, but to me it seems like Spence gets it.
Kell Brook is a very good fighter, he fought dudes other guys didn't really want to and he didn't go in there to really make the fights a boxing contests which honestly would have benefited him more in my opinion. He went in there fought it out and really fought to the end. No shame for those kinds of efforts no matter the results

Sounds like the way I felt after Tyson Fury beat Wlad!
Enjoy it mate, your boy did good. :unitedsta
Spence showed true championship mentality, grit, heart and determination.
He felt it in the mid rounds for sure. But he didn't give up and became way sharper imo which was quite strange to see at top level - usually goes the other way.
Well done Spence .
Much respect my friend. It was mighty fun going back and for for months about this one. I look forward to doing it again with you.
Hunger, determination, that will to succeed is certainly his best asset. If he can keep that fire going the sky is the limit.

It is weird for me. Yes he looked good, but not as good as I thought he would look? I predicted a KO within 4 rounds so I guess my expectations were too high. hehe
He gave himself a B-. I honestly thought he fought nervous as hell at the start lol. Kept overreaching with his jab and getting countered. He settled in and the SHORT SHOTS TO THE BODY is what won him this bout.
He was great.
It seemed at one point that Kell was sharper but Errol put it on him and from the 7th after Brook got the injury Spence absolutely broke his heart and Brook with his eyes needs to think about retiring unless he is in there with Khan who himself doesn't sound right. Both these lads seem like battle-worn veterans now even if they are only early 30's.
Him and Thurman will be interesting.
Spence is world class and congrats to all the Americans who have been high on him for ages - he's not let you down because if there was a weakness there he would have folded tonight.
I kept saying he is a body puncher in the lineage of Mike McCallum. Brook slowed down because every single time they clinched he threw short shots to the body. A man can only take so much. It sucks the soul out of you.
15 years of watching the sport lmfao yeah okay. aot of you dudes are new boxing fans and its not hard to tell.
Are you serious? My Sign up date way 10 years ago you BELLEND! (Am I using it right Brits?)
I didn't see two elite fighters in the ring tonight though

^^
Good point.
That body work was sick and constant, plus Brook didn't win on the inside he grabbed on but Spence was making things happen from the clinch.
That is how you do if a guy tries to grapple shorten up your shots, go to the body, push with the forearm a bit. Don't sit there thinking the situation is hopeless not doing a thing about it.
