Chin is the most important aspect of boxing. bar none. Why? Cus you taking on avg 100+ punches to the head in every fight that goes the distance. If you got a glass chin like most people in the World star videos, you would be weeded out in the amateurs.
i guarantee you even someone like Amir Khan has a better chin than 90% of the population.
Andre Dirrell's uncle is about 250 lbs and he sucker punched that dude bare knuckled as flush as he could. and that dude didn't even blink.
That is punishment. I would have to say tho Dirrell's uncle could just be a hoe.
One has a sub par chin with world level power, the other has a iron chin and hits like a b1tch.
Who do you pick.
I'd rather watch golf on TV and I hate golf.
none of those guys are chinny. Wlad's chin is at least average.
he's never been 1 punched.
Jacobs has a good chin. he took some flush shots from GGG. and only been KOed 1 time.
like i said, most of the pros at the elite level already have good chins.
bad chin is like Amir Khan. he's the only exception to the rule.
Jacobs got dropped by the first good shot Golovkin landed on him. Anything after can be attributed to Golovkin's shots losing their pop.
Jacobs got dropped by fighters like Mora and one punched by Pirog, which was your argument for saying that Klitschko wasn't a chinny fighter. Some people call Erislandy Lara chinny for getting dropped by Angulo, who is a fiercer puncher than both these guys. Jacob's chin falls in the "suspect" category.
As far as Klishtko goes, you could say that he never went against a fighter that had both the skills and the power to land a good one on him, especially after he adopted a safety first approach.
I disagree. Can still get power without both feet planted. Pivoting a left hook while moving right increases power and thas true for the opposite as well. Throwing a right cross or straight right while moving forward INCREASES momentum/power.
Don't always need to be planted
I never said they both needed to be planted you dingbat. You agreed with me --- first thing I said was power is in the abs and shoulders and feet are SECONDARY. Reading would help. :dunce:
let's not forget, dude DID NOT see that punch coming. and it was at the point of the chin.
punch you don't see is the one that KO you. and guess what..... he took it.

If thats your best assessment of two fighters. Theres nothing i can say to change that.
I'd say this has more to do with how fighters fought during their respective eras than anything. And I can't count too many pillow fisted ATGs either. In today's boxing, you don't necessarily need a good chin to be dominant. We just saw a rather chinny heavyweight dominate the division for 10 years.
And some of the greats had notoriously sh1tty chins. Take Willie Pep for instance. The guy got floored in the second round by a guy with 4 kos in his whole career. Willie Pep made it because of his elusive style, more reminiscent of today's boxers. But this style wasn't favored historically, hence why a good chin was more important. Times have changed, and so have styles. Today, I'd bank on elusiveness and speed over a solid chin any day.
..but wait, did you just say Jacobs has a good chin???

they both have good chins. that is the base.
if you look on the ATG list. what is the least consistent trait that a fighter can possess? it's a glass chin.
you don't need power.
you don't need speed.
you don't need amazing skills.
you can switch around or combine all 3.
HOWEVER, you need a good chin.

Who's better, Gabe Rosado or Danny Jacobs?

Leon has no power. If that was me, dude would be sleeping...chin or no chin.
Power comes from the foot up to the body threw the hand and then the snap in the wrist
Nah, power is in the abs and snap (shoulders). Only time you get power from the feet is if both feet are planted or in the case of the left hook you pivot on your left foot and your right foot is flat. Feet is secondary.

only except for the fact that mcgregor has been fighting with smaller gloves so putting on boxing gloves will make a big difference in taking punches.
Kinda man, boxing gloves actually originated to protect the fighters hands, not their heads. Ive sparred (boxing) a few MMArtist and 1 thing I can say is natural/pure wrestlers have retard strength BUT its 1 punch at a time. In boxing as you probably know, its the punch that you dont see that KO's you, meaning Floyds combos will be key. I dont think Macgregor will be able to take to many 3 punch combos from someone as quick as Floyd.
Dont get me wrong though, Macgregors power and speed is real. I also think he has a better chance at a 1 punch KO over a lot of Floyds last opponents but the odds of him winning any other way outside the first 2rds make Tyson-Dougalas odds look dead even.
Boxers have great punch resistance. Its what they do. This will be the telling tale to Mayweather vs. Macgregor, Macgregor does not have the punch resistance to go 12rds even with a 40yo.
Snap in the wrist? That's how you break your wrist. Do not snap your wrist when throwing a punch.
Yes power does come from the bottom up though
Not exactly a snap more like a millisecond 180 thrust right before connecting
