I heard it thrown around that this might land on the Canelo ggg undercard. I doubt it, but what do you guys think of this scrap? Would be good if it happened.
Vote and discuss
real shit, im always shocked by how people just have those kind of struggles. I have a good friend and dude is always yoyoing his weight.
Growing up hungry a lot don't help.
Recently re-watched Anthony Peterson vs Rios.
Peterson was 30-0 at the time. Fighting at lightweight, Rios won by DQ. The interesting thing about that fight was how Rios just made Peterson quit.
Rios was one bad hombre. lol Too bad his two toughest opponents were his knife and fork.
it would've been an awesome fight a couple of years ago, rios looked terrible vs bradley and got stopped vs a guy who can't crack an egg. if he is in good shape maybe, but i think lucas has a target practice vs him and stops the fight in the mid rounds in a one sided affair.
prime vs prime i would still give it to lucas, he is just a better boxer overall, rios was always easy to hit
Rios should go through an extensive medical evaluation, not the one from the athletics commission, a real one that really evaluates a persons brain activity and does scans and all that. He doesn't sound right and sending him out there again would be irresponsible for anyone involved, let alone putting him in there with Matthysse.
I'm kinda surprised nobody gives rios a shot. We're talking about a matthysee who, when he was prime, got dropped twice by John Molina jr.
I can see Lucas being the better boxer but with rios' pressure and his ability to absorb shots and give them right back. I don't see how Lucas doesn't hit the canvas.
:lol1: that was after the Garcia loss which people claim "ruined him". The Dallas that fought and annihilated Dallas and Peterson were arguably prime Lucas Matthysse.
Alvarado has rios looking like a bobblehead, Lucas would give him brain damage. His corner would have to stop it cause he has more balls than sense. But a body shot would probably end up dropping him anyways
Pass, Brandon needs a couple (whatever is softer than a "SOFT" touch) tune-up so they can gauge what he has left.
Lucas is good to go... Maybe one more before he is back to a top guy
I would hate this fight. Matty would win pretty easily, he's miles ahead of Rios at this point who himself has downgraded some. I think matty would have his way with basically any punch he wants..
Rios hasn't fought since he was crying into retirement when he got stopped by Bradley.
This should be fun depending on what type of condition Rios will come in
It's ridiculous. Dude is a straight bum. If you throw 50 punches against him you'll land 52. Dude is a heavy bag.
:lol1::lol1::lol1: almost spit out the chip I was eating
If they fought a few years back I think Rios stops Lucas easily. Lucas was a hyped fighter and the fans bought into the promo.
Rios at this point needs to stop, those of you who degrade this guy should be ashamed of yourself' s.
Here's a guy with limited skills who fought hard and had a tremendous will to call him garbage at this point in his career is wrong.
Fighters burn out at different times of their careers and just because a personality doesn't show logic and his demeanor isn't mature doesn't mean at his best he didn't offer a game performance. Crude in style and persona yes but a warrior non the less.
Lighten up larryX don't forget you've accomplished nothing in the sport this guy was a main event fighter.
Seems you've never thanked me yet for correcting your
"wrong way roll" when teaching your boy. :boxing:
It's ok you probably forgot ...................

Based on what?

you're right. I'm being overly critical. Should be a decent undercard fight. But at this stage you have to be concerned over Rios health and a win over him in reality does very little for Matthysee.
At this point, who really expects much from Matthysse though? So, we would just have to accept this fight for what it is, pure entertainment.
Man, you must find boxing really boring then if all you care about is "special" fighters.
