The same people arguing punchstat for Mayweather fights... please try to point to 1 metric that Jacobs dominated that would give him the win. especially when you go round by round. GGG landed more punches. GGG landed a KD GGG did more damage GGG imposed superior ring generalship GGG showcased superior defense all facts. don't get emotional now. I know it's hard for the children raised by single moms. try to be rational if you can.

People gave Jacobs way too much credit for competitiveness. He did very well, much better than I expected, but there's no way he won more than 6 rounds. Golovkin clearly had issues but I see people giving Jacobs rounds where Golovkin CLEARLY outlanded him and had the better round. I don't understand the controversy here at all. To me, no, I wasn't surprised. I think I could see all the variables coming into play here. I said before the fight that it would be a close 7-5 fight and that people would ask for a rematch. Exactly what happened. Golovkin is more skilled than Jacobs but Jacobs being almost 2 inches taller, with more reach and weight, played a role. Jacobs was a Super MW that night.

by all rights, this should have never went to the judges but BOTH guys fought very cautiously. if not for the off balance kd, it might have been a draw/canelo vs jacobs. that kd and 3g's jabs = md win wasnt boring, wasnt epic. OFF BALANCE KD??? He was punched in the face twice and going down when Golovkin got close to him and tried to land a left hook. Then Jacobs grabbed Golovkin by his feet and almost the two go down... but it was a legit KD. If Golovkin didn't try to land a left hook, Jacobs would go down just the same, just look at it in youtube.

It was a fairly competitive fight but boring one. Golovkin won but it wasn't too exciting or interesting to watch.
