BONUS MULTIPLIER: Since Canelo is a 9/1 favorite, there is an automatic 2.25X multiplier on picks for Chavez Jr.
You only need to post in this thread to indicate 2X or 3X and/or to pick a draw. EG.
BrometheusBob.,2X
If you are using no multiplier (1X), and not picking a draw, just voting in the poll puts you in. I will assume you want 1X unless you post otherwise.
NOTES:
-CLOSE = 116-112 on all three scorecards or closer
WIDE = Wider than 116-112 on all three scorecards
-PM me before the fight starts with a different pick in order to change your pick.
-2X doubles your points and 3X triples your points. Everyone starts with 3 doubles and 2 triples to use throughout the year. If you forget how many you have left, check the leaderboard in the master thread.
Sticky me BostonGuy
That's cause I MISSED a pick completely while I was banned!
After this is tallied, GUARANTEED I'll be bull rushing right back into top-10!
I've actually missed TWO rounds of picks! Despite that, my skills and intelligence will STILL keep me in position to make my move for the top during the last three weeks of the season.
U SEE THAT POST ABOVE?!?! I'll be getting 90 POINTS! So go ahead and PUT SOME RESPEK ON MY NAME! And maybe I'll forget your errant ways, and not go upside that head! PUT SOME RESPEK ON MY NAME! That's 90 POINTS!
Shoulda, woulda, coulda. It's not our fault we stay up-to-date.
Fvck me I totally forgot to use a multiplier... shiet
Ah man! I don't see a pick for you in the poll :frown:
I won't burn a 2x from you though
Thanks...im sure i picked chavez 5-8 but maybe i didnt click submit...i have only picked one winner so far so its not gonna damage my stats lol
Hahah during the Wlad/Joshua fight, when Wlad started rallying a bit, you said: "Put some RESPEK on his name"! Heheh. Well - that's how I feel right now!!
Still pissed off he didn't close the show when he had Joshua out on his feet for like three rounds.
:lol1::lol1:
Would've been amusing after that whole dramatic intro for AJ if Wlad would've come back from deep waters to win the fight. Oh well.
DON'T FORGET B-squared, I used my last 3X MULTIPLIER ON CANELO WIDE DECISION!
Don't try and JEW ME out of 'dem points!
B to the second power - mwuahahah I AM MARCHING BACK.
Aye yo teacher, where dat 3x multiplier got you? Where you at? You aint even in the top 10. :lol1:
Shouldda stuck to what the brain was saying and not get seduced by the multiplier :(
Hehe yeah that multiplier almost got me, to have a chance to get to the top, but then i realized Chavez is a punching bag for the last 5 years and is drained on top..question is will Canelo knock him out or not, apparently he couldnt even drop him.
Voted last minute and I forgot we could that. And I think this was the first time I was right in a while. Damn.
I didn't use a multiplier either... but I don't have the same excuse :lol1: It just straight up slipped my mind to use one.
Anyway the leaderboard has been updated

Close is the equivalent of 116-112 on all three cards or closer. That's a scoring difference of 4 on each card or 12 pts total.
Your example:
117-111 = 6
119-109 = 10
115-113 = 2
= 18 pts difference
Which I would count as wide.
Sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean that all three cards must have scores greater than 116-112 to count as wide. The 116-112 on all three cards is just an example to illustrate the cutoff which I actually handle in terms of pts difference.
Hey I sent you a message. I had suggested that the Chavez multiplier would apply to a draw in our earlier message but now I'm not sure if that makes sense.
Yes, I got it...
Thanks...
Question - in order to get credit for "Wide Decision," the boxer has to have 116-112 or wider on ALL THREE cards?
Does that mean 116-112? Or it has to be WIDER, so starting at 117-111?
EX: 116-112 on all three cards = WIDE DECISION or would that be CLOSE DECISION?
It doesn't seem quite right - if a boxer was 117-111; 119-109; 115-113 and for that NOT to count as a WIDE DECISION? That means if somebody picked Mayweather WD over Canelo, they wouldn't have gotten it, cause one idiotic judge had it a draw?

I called a Draw in this one, I'm probably alone...
I am 90% sure it's going to be a Canelo decision, most likely by a wide margin...
I think Chavez Jr is durable and being heavier and the fact he's in shape this time, might mean that he's extremely serious about winning... He knows this is serious business for his personal Legacy and the legacy of his family name to his country...
But, even Mayweather and his whitewash of Canelo only won by majority decision...
This makes me think that a dominant performance by Chavez Jr should only Garner him a draw... I think that Chavez Jr needs multiple Knock Downs in order to get a decision against Canelo, thus the Draw call...
Add in the intangible that Oscar would rather rematch Chavez than put Canelo in with GGG, and a closer decision would be needed to justify a rematch...
Hey I sent you a message. I had suggested that the Chavez multiplier would apply to a draw in our earlier message but now I'm not sure if that makes sense.
Also, I think there should be some sort of "inherent," if you will, or "builtin" bonus, for successfully predicting a draw.
It doesn't seem quite fair to take the risk of predicting a draw, to only be rewarded the same as calling a WD, or CD.
Even calling a KO isn't as tedious, because you have a range of rounds, and aren't pinpointing a single round.

Picking a draw is 75pts, which makes it essentially like getting a 2.5x multiplier
