Why is Jorge Linares champion?

He won a vacant title vs some unknown dude, fought some guys outside of the top 10 like Mitchell and Arakawa, has looked good against mediocre opponents (like everyone else does), and finally fought a top 10 ranked LW in Crolla twice. Weak division, but Mikey has joined the parade and immediately calmed sh*t down starting with Zlacticanin. Next is the weak paper champ Linares.

He has a lot of talent and good to watch at times but i still think he will lose again once he fights someone like Mikey Garcia. Linares looked good against Crolla but Crolla isn't a big puncher and very basic in his style. Crolla might have been a world champ, but i think he's a bit short of actually being world class. His style is tailor made for a guy like Linares, which is why he happily took a rematch. Easy work and good money. Linares was having a difficult time with a shot Kevin Mitchell. Kevin Mitchell was talented on his day though, he never took boxing seriously in his prime but Linares wasn't having it easy against a faded almost retired Mitchell. I think his wins over Crolla are giving a false impression of how good he is. Someone like Mikey will destroy him.

Hes an above average fighter at best No defence, got TKO'd 3 times, 2 of them in the 1st and 2nd round by cab drivers but somehow its not his chin. Didnt he get knocked down by Kevin Mitchell in their fight? :lol1: Hes a bum whos gonna get schooled by any elite or B+ lightweight. Guy cant even throw punches correctly and slaps when he throws combinations LOL @ the denial in the thread, u guys have no shame :lol1:

Hes terrible and having title defenses against bums The moment he steps up with a C+ level opponent (like Antonio De Marco) he'll get flattened. Hes a slapper with no power and defence, and a bad chin. Just shows how weak the division is if he is even a title holder He was schooling De Marco but got cut.

I think he's great to watch when he's on form. Right? He is one of my favorites to watch.

Linares is a tremendous fighter. He's got a vulnerable chin, that's the only real flaw. That's like describing Jacobs. Yet no one sh1ts on Mikey. GGG takes these types of chinny fighters, hell breaks loose.

Jorge Linares is class. He has beautiful fluid technique, with his thin skin being one of his weaknesses.

Chin and durability are different traits. Linares has taken many big shots and has absorbed it well. Maybe he cuts too easily.. it is his skin, not the chin. Glass chin is misused by too many casuals.
