After one loss The Prince soon retired and was never heard of again. Does Garcia have that same mentality...were a defeat damages the ego and the oomph to go on just withers away?
Maybe but prince was a lot richer when he walked away...
Danny will come back.. his bank account isn't that high though he has made some good money, just not promce money
Raising your hands as if you won when you didn't do jack for 8 rounds?
Yeah, he got embarrassed. Period.
Nah he wasn't his stock is the same now as it was before the Thurman fight.
He was supposed to lose, not get embarrassed over 12.
I would have accepted a razor thin split decision where each fighter got a knockdown, with Garcia throwing much more than usual. I would have accepted Garcia losing under a scenario where it's just a matter of Thurman fighting smarter.
No.
What happened was, Garcia was trying to time One Time, and instead let Thurman tee off on him like a sparring match. Total embarrassment, not just to himself but to boxing in general for that performance.
He was hardly embarrassed against the bigger guy who was supposed to beat him anyway.
Garcia will be back, he lost to the more talented, quicker, and harder hitting opponent who's a solid fighter himself in Thurman!
Garcia put up a good fight just needs to throw more punches if they do a rematch cuz when he did throw more, Thurman was wary!
He DID get humiliated like Naz. Exposed as one-dimensional and unable to adapt to an effective boxer.
And we heard his dad. No rematch, tell him to retire.
How when he was supposed to lose anyway?
Garcia was nowhere near as exciting or as skilled. No.
Another thing, Naz was an underachiever. He could gone on to do even greater things if he took the sport seriously. Danny Garcia, on the other hand, might be the biggest overachiever in boxing history.
Lol hell be back y'all act like he took a career ending beating or that he got humiliated like naz was. He'll keep fighting as long he's getting those million dollar paydays.
If he does retire I won't miss him or his dad. Thurman came to his home town and clearly beat him and he is crying robbery. They are poor winners and sore losers.
You could very well be right. He turned down a Mayweather fight because they felt "he wasn't ready." The way I see it is, they were putting a lot of stock on his 0 cause they didn't even want to lose it to one of the bests of our era.
