Duran would humiliate him. Boxers are NOT better now, not sure what brand of paint chips you're eating, but boxers of previous eras truly honed their craft. Fought more often and against better opposition. Thurman and Garcia would have been devoured in the 60s - 80s.
Woah easy big man. Keith is one of the best right now, Duran is one of the best of all time.
Haha, yeah, this is more of a question to ask in 10-15 years once Keith's time is over and we can reflect on their careers.
Duran is one of the greatest, Keith has a LONG way to go to get to Duran's level.
Peopel forget Duran had a solid run of wins at 147 before fighting Leonard twice and both times, he looked menacing at the weight. That guy would batter thurman into retirement
I definitely agree, man. Not even sure he could, but damn, what a fight that would be! He beat one Sugar Ray. Could he beat them both?
Well, from what I've seen of post prime Robinson's skillset I think Montreal Duran could possibly beat him. It's just the reports of prime Robinson at welterweight say he was unbelievably devastating.
Wise words sir. Thurman has dedication and works hard. That's obvious. But "Hands of Stone" fought with true passion and rage that is hard to find- controlled rage. The fire burning in him just spelled bad news for his opponents and Thurman wouldn't have stood up to it. It's no knock on him. Hell, I see that version of Duran beating prime DLH, Mosley, Trinidad and so many others. They had talent but not his kind of fire or level of skill-especially on the inside.
He most definitely would have too much for all those guys. There's not much footage of prime welterweight Ray Robinson but if what they say is true then he's the only one I think could handle Montreal Duran.
I gave him six rounds at best. Duran would take down most welters with ease on that Montreal night.
As tough as Keith is he wouldn't be able to understand the kind of animal that's in front of him because his heart don't burn that kind of rage and lust for battle.
I think you are underrating Keith.
No. Keith Thurman's an excellent boxer and would definitely give versions of Duran problems since post Leonard 1 Duran was known to spend too much time cutting weight due to excessive partying between fights that often resulted in him turning up flat, sluggish and unmotivated. Fantasy matches usually involve the best version of each fighter at the weight. Montreal Duran is the very best of welterweight Duran. That version of Duran would beat Thurman with absolute ease. He was in unbelievable shape and extremely determined. Then you have Duran's skillset which is arguably the most complete of any boxer in history. Keith would struggle to keep montreal Duran at bay and would struggle to land on him.
Duran TKO round 8 and that's being kind to Keith.
If Duran turns up in shape Thurman would be shown moves he's never seen before. Thurman wouldn't be able to lay a glove on Duran with those wild attacks and would be countered the complete **** out of. The party ridden Duran who showed up against Kirkland Laing would struggle though.

ah boxingscene I've been gone for a while but you haven't changed a bit. Who'd win? One of the greatest of all time or the current flavour of the month?
TS, did you even watch the fight tonight? Thurman was tripping over his own damn feet, and looking square at the canvas as he was exchanging shots with Danny on the inside, and was jumping in, and throwing some wild as hooks, and just being incrwidbly reckless at times. Also, got effected by a few Danny Garcia, not Roberto Duran, body shots. Those body shots were hurting him.
What in the hell do you think hands of stone would do to him on the inside, and to his body? Not to mention, Duran's defense is leagues above Thurman's, and so is his overlap boxing skills, stamina, speed, power, chin, durability, everything.
Duran was the perfect fighting machine for God's sake. He beat SRL for God's sake.
Thurman would have to stay away, behind the jab, pray Duran is flat footed that night and turn it into a boring fight with virtually no exchanges. Total snooze fest. To have any chance of winning..
He starts trading with Duran and he is getting stopped
P4p Duran wins. At 147 he loses.
No, I won't agree it's this. P4P Thurman is better, but Duran wins at 147. Duran probably wins at 160 too, while Thurman definitely wins at 135.
Yeah, you believe this so much, you made this thread with your alt account, because you know how retarded you sound, and you're just trying to get fans to start hating Thurman, by being annoying and dick riding him in a fake and phony way.
This is such an old tactic used by Floyd fans for years. Any hot fighter on the scene, make a thread about them, exaggerating the **** out of their skills, thus having fans start hating him, because of the trolls making threads like this.
