Maybe it is too soon to panic but...
...there seems to be an awful lot of seats unsold for what is a really good fight.
Let's hope that changes soon.

In this era of handing out trophies to just about anybody, any fight promoted by RocNation should be counted treble to adjust for if it had been done by a halfway competent promoter.
RocNation must always be graded on a curve.
Who do they have really besides Andre "Fuugg You, Pay Me" Ward and Guillermo "Milk Carton" Rigondeaux?
No one said Kovalev or Ward were major draws...ever.
But Triple L is supposed to be one of the most high profile guys in the sport.
When it comes to popularity, they wanna compare Grubluvkin to Pac and Floyd.
So why are they comparing Lil g's numbers to Ward, who doesn't sell out his hometown?
Have your cake and eat it too...much?
You do know the other fights were in the Theater at MSG, which holds 5,000, not the main arena, which holds 20k and hosts Knicks and Rangers games?
Then how did Golovkin vs Lemieux sell 21k tickets you fool?
One fight at the MSG??? man you should be ashamed you don't know what you are talking about.
Golovkin vs Jacobs, was at MSG.
Golovkin vs Lemieux, was at MSG.
Golovkin vs Geale, was at MSG.
Golovkin vs Stevens, was at MSG.
Also sold 20k+ in the UK against Brook, and 15k+ against Wade and Monroe Jr.

His tickets are cheaper than the top names.
He had one fight in MSG. Please don't act like he fights in arenas that size in all his fights.
You are always over exaggerating what GGG does.

Maxi, stop being an ignorant tool just for shits and giggles.
Jacobs/GGG was promoted well. Ward/Kov 2 was a promoted HORRIBLY! The low numbers are because of the putrid promotion. Ward/Kov shouldn't have been in Vegas. It should've been in Oakland or NYC where a number of eastern europeans and russians live.
Roc Nation and Main Events should be blamed for those numbers IMO.
GGG is popular, no doubt. He sells more than Ward. his tickets are very inexpensive compared to other top names. He also fights in smaller venues. He gets the benefit of HBO pushing him more than anyone except Canelo.
His 1st fight in MSG was with another local fighter who had shown an ability to sell a bit but it didn't sell out-indicating that he can't carry an "event" level fight.
WHy do you have to try and make him more than what he actually is?
Tickets cheaper? then why is he generating a gate of at least 2 millions every time he fights? 3.7 the last time and more than 3 milliions in the UK as well.
Selling 20k tickets and you say he fight in small arenas? wtf?

I see Golovkin selling out every one of his fights. Whether it's against Jacobs, Willie monroe jr, or anyone else.
And I see your excuses for Ward.

Jacobs sold 8k with Quillin. If not for him bringing so many fans the Jacobs/GGG fight wouldn't have sold out.
Ward unfortunately had Kov in Vegas. Kov can't draw flies to shit. His fights in Montreal sold because of the opponents. Bhop was the draw when they fought. Most Ward fans knew he'd win again so they didn't show up for the rematch.
If you see something different, tell us.

Right, that's why he sold only 8k in Brooklyn against Quillin and made 300k in TV ratings.
Go away ;)

Golovkin-Jacobs gate = 3.7 millions. Almost 20k seats sold.
Ward-Kovalev II gate = 2 millions. 6k seats sold.
Many of you GGG haters should be ASHAMED.
Shows that Jacobs is a bigger draw than Kovalev.

At least 1000-2000 seats unsold on ticketmaster mins before event started at 7pm. And that's not even counting any comp tickets they have already given away. If they call this a sellout they are bold face lying. If they say sold anywhere near 17k they will release the live gate figures. If they don't it will only be because they actually sold far fewer. Now it's time for K2 to hit the streets and give away a couple thousand free tickets to try and increase the attendance numbers. LMAO
I don't really care, except for the fact that the turds who heckle some boxers for attendance are the exact same ones who have nothing to say here. Or, say that attendance means nothing to them.
yup same GGG supporters who spent most of last year talking about other fighters ticket sales and attendance are now either changing their tunes or avoiding this. We are mins away from this event starting and there are complete rows still available on ticketmaster. Eyeballing almost 20% of arena.

And this isn't even counting the amount of free comps they probably already handed out. Time to go to the homeless shelter and start handing out free tickets in the streets.
Will be interesting if K2 releases live gate figures or lies to broadcast that it's a sell out crowd.
Will K2 lie tonight and call the fight a sell out? We hours before the fight and you can get 8 seats in a row in just about any section. LMAO

NYC is an event town. If they can't sell out for BBB sides biggest challenge yet than it says a lot about his appeal to sports fans.
I will be out of town for work that weekend so i don't even think I am going to catch the fight.
Exactly.
We fans like to watch Lil g. Hell, I can remember leaving an engagement early, racing uptown to get to Jack Dempsey's so I could grab a meal while watching him fight.
But, LIl g hasn't crossed over yet. He doesn't have mass appeal yet.
Most of the PPV buying public has no clue who he is.
Which is why him turning down 15M or even 10 plus upside (I have seen reports claiming upside is included in GBP's offer) is just insane.
All he has to do is take the money (and the hugest stage he could ever hope for), have a good showing (he technically doesn't even have to beat Canelo, just make sure it is really close) and he's a star.
He writes his own ticket from there on out.
It's baffling, really.
And BTW, those of you trying to compare Garcia v Thurman...again, that was on free TV...and the damn near sold out Barclay and were the top rated show in the time slot anyway.
Lil g needs to make a move...soon.
