In this era of handing out trophies to just about anybody, any fight promoted by RocNation should be counted treble to adjust for if it had been done by a halfway competent promoter. RocNation must always be graded on a curve. Who do they have really besides Andre "Fuugg You, Pay Me" Ward and Guillermo "Milk Carton" Rigondeaux? No one said Kovalev or Ward were major draws...ever. But Triple L is supposed to be one of the most high profile guys in the sport. When it comes to popularity, they wanna compare Grubluvkin to Pac and Floyd. So why are they comparing Lil g's numbers to Ward, who doesn't sell out his hometown? Have your cake and eat it too...much?

At least 1000-2000 seats unsold on ticketmaster mins before event started at 7pm. And that's not even counting any comp tickets they have already given away. If they call this a sellout they are bold face lying. If they say sold anywhere near 17k they will release the live gate figures. If they don't it will only be because they actually sold far fewer. Now it's time for K2 to hit the streets and give away a couple thousand free tickets to try and increase the attendance numbers. LMAO

NYC is an event town. If they can't sell out for BBB sides biggest challenge yet than it says a lot about his appeal to sports fans. I will be out of town for work that weekend so i don't even think I am going to catch the fight. Exactly. We fans like to watch Lil g. Hell, I can remember leaving an engagement early, racing uptown to get to Jack Dempsey's so I could grab a meal while watching him fight. But, LIl g hasn't crossed over yet. He doesn't have mass appeal yet. Most of the PPV buying public has no clue who he is. Which is why him turning down 15M or even 10 plus upside (I have seen reports claiming upside is included in GBP's offer) is just insane. All he has to do is take the money (and the hugest stage he could ever hope for), have a good showing (he technically doesn't even have to beat Canelo, just make sure it is really close) and he's a star. He writes his own ticket from there on out. It's baffling, really. And BTW, those of you trying to compare Garcia v Thurman...again, that was on free TV...and the damn near sold out Barclay and were the top rated show in the time slot anyway.
