Austin Trout seemed to take it just fine.....J-Rock is packing glass and now people who were hyping J-Rock want to hype Charlo instead of admitting they fell for the J-Rock hype.
Jacobs won't have trouble finding GGG.
I agree he won't have trouble finding Triple G early. Gennady may be the one having trouble finding the power shots early but once Golovkin does find his offense it will get very difficult for Jacobs. Hand speed and overall one punch power may be with Jacobs, but Gennady has a sturdy beard and excellent stamina. The longer the fight goes, the more of an advantage GGG will have as he starts to wear Jacobs down. Once Golovkin starts getting those power shots in, Jacobs offense will start to dwindle significantly I believe. We will see in March though!
His defense is weak...and his legs are TINY.
It doesn't matter how strong your chin is when you always pull straight back with your hands down:boxing:
Look how he drops his punches to his waist.
A KO waiting to happen.
Golovkin is there to be had.
Ya'll are just too busy worshiping to notice.
Yeah, Golovkin is a puny, fragile little nerd who can't fight his way out of a paper bag. He just got lucky 355 times as an amateur boxer and 36 times as a pro, but his luck won't last forever ...
We'll see how these punchers are at 154 if/when they move up to 160. Things could change once they start wearing 10 oz gloves instead of 8. That's a big reason I've always been hesitant for GGG to move down. If he's still the killer he is at 154 that he was at 160, him wearing 8 oz gloves would be sanctioned murder. Obviously it's all hypothetical because we don't know how he would be at 154, especially now. While these guys all look good, Gennady does have a way of changing the way his opponents fight once they feel the first clean shot. Don't see someone like Charlo being any different.
Can he recover from that?
Would never happen. Julian came in lunging head first from 5 feet away. GGG always has his hands up and his chin tucked. Only time he dosen't is when he drops his hands and tells the opponent to hit him like with monroe jr and wade.
To your Jermall loving, GGG hating self it's a 50/50 fight. To the neutral and far more knowledgeable professional odds makers GGG would be an 8 to 1 favorite just like he is against Jacobs now. Jacobs would KO Jermall himself. GGG has 23 KOs in a row. Jermall failed to floor Trout who wouldn't last 3 rounds with GGG. Jermall is a good puncher at 154 but he isn't in GGG's class as a KO artist.
I like both Jermall and Golovkin
People think ggg can take any punch to the chin because he got punched by Curtis Stevens and Brook if Jacobs lands those punches he done
GGG has a very underrated defense imo. Stevens landed a few punches but they were few and far between. Lemieux only landed a handful of meaninful punches the entire fight and got PUNISHED by GGG's jab. Brook landed some good shots on GGG but after the fight, GGG acknowledged that Brook wasn't a true MW and he lacked true MW power.
I guess my point is that I'm sure he is going to have his guard up and show respect for Jacob's power just like de did Lemieux. I'm not saying he lets guys hit him on purpose but I do think he lets defense take more of a back seat in some fights against less risky opposition.
Jermall Charlo VS Gennady Golovkin is a true 50/50 fight, Charlo can put Golovkin's lights out and Golovkin can put Charlo's lights out. Both are very hittable, both have knockdown power jabs, both have killer right hands, both have great left hooks, but Charlo's uppercut is better than Golovkin's and Golovkin's body shots are better than Charlo's. I can see that fight going either way tbh, but if they fight in 2018 it's going to be Charlo who's gonna win, cause it's not likely they'll meet in 2017To your Jermall loving, GGG hating self it's a 50/50 fight. It would bounce harmlessly off his chin and he would land a straight right that would put Jermall in a coma. Jermall couldn't hurt or floor Trout while Canelo and Lara both put Trout on the deck. GGG has twice the chin Trout has and three times the chin glass jawed Williams has.

Uppercut wasn't even that strong, Williams chin is just glass.
Not really about the force of the punch. It was more about timing and the punch placement that caught Williams.
Charlo is one of the most dangerous fights around 160 for Golovkin. More than Jacobs I think. Probably the only guy around the division that could outjab him.
I agree that Charlo is much more dangerous because his offense will land regardless. Jacobs may have trouble landing his offense once the fight starts to heat up. Jacobs has to catch Triple G cold to win. Charlo can have a full speed Gennady and still has the shot at getting the KO. Charlo is going to be very hard to KO. He is so fresh and with such a good skill set for a puncher. He would have a serious chance of scoring the stoppage. A few people hyped Jacobs as a 50 50 fight. I'd say Jacobs has a serious punchers chance early but Charlo is a stoppage threat for 12 rounds. You could argue Charlo has a more accomplished resume than DJ who is only the interim champion while Jermall has reigned as champ ever since he violently removed the belt from durable strong man K9 Bundrage.
