Which winner is better for the current state of boxing ?
Canelo winning would undoubtable making him a far bigger star and garner much more mainstream attention for boxing. He is also the younger fighter which can be assumed that he would have more big fights in the future. However canelo winning will continue the form of ducking a fighter so they age and decline in skills.
Golovkin winning would make him a mainstream star but for how long? Already 34 he doesnt have long left in the sport. Potential match ups in the future with ward and degale look far more attractive with the added exposure Golovkin will recieve.
Personally even tho i prefer GGG as a fighter, i believe Canelo winning is far more important for the future of boxing.
Golovkin winning is better for the sport. he's way more active ..four fights each year vs just two for Canelo. with that said I pick Canelo to win, his combinations will be too much for GGG who was getting picked apart by Brook who just didn't have the strength to keep it up.
Canelo. Golovkin is old. Idk why his deluded fans think he'll fight til he's 50 like bhop
I figure it should be the haters that want GGG to fight until 50 so they can watch him get knocked, I'm sorry, I mean "pushed" out the ring like B-Flop
A Canelo win would certainly be better. It would show these young guys that you should fight at whatever catch weight gives you the most advantage. That you should invite opponents into the ring, and talk sh it about them with no real intentions of fighting them. It would show the younger guys that if your mandatory challenger doesn't give you the money you want, that you should throw the belt away and try to get one at a different weight. A Canelo win would be great to show the boxing world how a diva operates
You're assuming that GGG winning would all of a sudden would make ducks become brave and fight him. It's probably the opposite. Most of them will likely demand $5 mil minimum. The man wants 4 fights a year. How can that be possible when his opponents are all demanding truckloads of money just to taste his power?
Everyone's assuming something. Canelo has slowly, but consistently, been moving further away from the fighter everyone thought he was and becoming a little bit of a cherry picker.
GGG winning would make him a target because, unlike now, people won't really be able to say he hasn't fought anyone, and after he completely unifies the middleweight division, he will make the bigger fights at 168 were nobody is ducking him.
GGG win is better. Canrlo will always be a star, and the last he lost he came back fighting against boxers proplr thought he wpuld avoid.
If GGG wins he will capitalize on his momentum and finish off his career with big marquee fights. If he loses he'll have to rebuild and that will affect whatever time he has left in the sport.

Reality is best. A great fight with the better man that night being the winner is best for boxing. Canelo is a brave fighter with total dedication to training hard and being the best boxer he can be. A lost to Mayweather didn't hurt him much. He would survive a lost to GGG and continue to be a big star. If Canelo wins fairly with no bad decision then his popularity would go through the roof.
Golovkin. Canelo just followed the blue print that mayweather perfected "Take the fight that is the most rewarding at its lowest risk." Though only a simpler version. Golovkin will fight anyone.he will fight anyone from 154 -168 except canelo.....the hipocracy
No doubt it's Canelo. GGG is on his way out of boxing. He's too old he doesn't have many years left so he won't give boxing a shot in the arm and won't carry boxing the next decade. Canelo based on his age and him already being the biggest draw has that chance to be the figure head in boxing for the next DECADE. Canelo win adds more money to the sport of boxing then a GGG win would add to the sport.
Also GGG if he wins won't get much credit because he's the bigger guy and 160 is his normal weight. Fans have been asking him to move up and fight bigger fighters for half a decade. If he win everyone will say he just picked on a smaller Super Welterweight, who never beat anyone at 160, rather then move up and fight Super middleweights. If Canelo wins he gets more credit for the win then GGG does. He'll be the slight underdog and will be knock off a boogyeman from a higher weight class.
Golovkin would be better. Because we will get another 3 years out of good rematches.
If Canelo wins, then he moves onto cans again.
If Golovkin wins then there will be rematches.
Golovkin would be better. Hes holding things up with his quest for all the belts. He'll move to 168 and leave a void for the guys at 154 to move into that aren't willing to fight each other. I doubt Canelo would lose much of his fanbase, as its not really that bad a loss. With 160 free, youll have the area to make another star from the guys at 154. Those guys become more popular you have another load of big fights for Canelo
