Not true, he had time to negotiate before that. They had a long time to negotiate before a purse bid. Canelo knew damn well that he wasnt going to fight GGG at that time or any time soon. The whole excuse about him not wanting to give up 40% is all just smoke and mirrors.
Agreed.
nice 2nd gif tho :biggthump:biggthump
What I think is funny is that they've been running around for months yapping about $10M. Now, they make a comment about $15M and some guys run with it like its gospel. Oscar could say tomorrow that he offered GGG $50M, and guys would take it hook line and sinker, saying, Lil g better take that $50M while he can
Well said. It's annoying when this forums just turns to sh*t.
It took me 3 minutes to find:
2.17 Division of Proceeds in a Purse Offer. The net purse offer (after deduction of all sanction
fees payable to the WBC hereunder) shall be divided as follows:
(a) 70% for the champion and 30% for the challenger in title bouts; and
(b) 50% to each contender in the case of vacant titles or elimination bouts.
No idea where he pulled 40% from? Probably the same place where he pulled 15 mill from?
Conela vacated as he couldn't fork out 30% for his IBF, WBA champ challenger?
Now he has no titles against the UNDISPUTED CHAMP and won't give him a 40% split, only a FLAT FEE !!?!?!!
Stop ducking GGG you p*ssy
Sure didn't...just like he didn't net 10 million against Cotto.
All those guys you mention got significant upside. Lemieux and Jacobs got upside from GGG, Khan and Chavez got upside from Canelo. Why is he happy to concede upside to these no credibility chumps but not to 3 belt champ GGG?
So why didn't he offer GGG $15million when he still had the belt?
I know rational thought isn't popular round here, but come on ... this is kindergarten level stuff.
canelo wouldn't even fight ggg for 75 percent of the purse. could have went to purse bid and gotten that but he dropped the belt so he could lowball him/not fight him
If that information is true then the 10 million offered was more then enough for GGG. Canelo fighting Floyd didn't even net him 10 mil

From this article, http://moneynation.com/how-much-money-does-canelo-alvarez-make/ it breaks down Canelos most recent purses and PPV splits and the total money he received.
In his fight against Cotto he made $5M flat plus another $2,098,500 on PPV for a total over over $7M
Against Floyd which at the time broke PPV records he got $5M flat and plus another $4.9M for just under $10M
Compare those numbers and the guys he fought, $15M sounds pretty good for GGG. GGG isn't nearly the same attraction Canelo is yet is getting offered more than he did for likely a fight not going to do as well those other PPV's.

GGG-Jacobs will probably outsell GGG-Lemule
If it gets even 200k, I think GGG demonstrates he's a reasonably big commodity. Not on par with Canelo but still not a flat fee kind of opponent.
Canelo-Chavez Jr is a match between two recognizable names but it's not a match between two top fighters. I can't say I can gauge what numbers it should do... but I don't think it'll be huge.
Truth.
What I still don't get from folks that side with Golovkin is that they feel that he should get something without earning it. Canelo took chances when it came to money on two occasions (Floyd and Cotto) and catered to the demands of both those fighters to an extent. Golovkin has not done that at any point in his career.
GGG would have gladly taken those two fights.
Some of you are so weird with your obsessions with purse splits. As long as the fight happens, who cares?
Golovkin vs Jacobs will do good numbers. It will do more buys than Kovalev-ward and double their gate number.
Of course golovkin doesn't have the popularity of Canelo. Nobody denies that.
GGG-Jacobs will have solid ratings. HBO isn't going PPV on it.

Stephen A.Smith and Max Kellerman pretty much already exposed Oscar De la Hoya on live television about that low ball offer.
Fights of that magnitude don't work with flat offers they work with percentages not unless the flat offer equals to what the team deem acceptable in percentages of what is predicted for the fight to make.
Don't think many of us know how much Canelo Vs. GGG would really make leave that to the experts I'm certain ODLH will have a good idea that he would absolutely not share with anyone.
Green K for common sense

Heh, Canela fans acting like GGG being a softie absolves Canela from being a softie himself.
GGG thinks he's worth more than he is. Canela is looking for any excuse to avoid him. And Oscar touches his meat curtains everytime Canela says "155".
Move on people - this fight isn't happening.

Come out.
Chavez jr. And Canelo will do at least 700k. Jacobs and Lil G will maybe do 97k. He better sign for the 15 mill now while he has the chance.
The state of Boxing is garbage irreparable. How is that GGG vs Jacobs does sh1t and Canelo Jr sells great. Wtf?? This is crazy. Smh I hate that love Boxing so much.
Nah, if canelo doesnt take the fight with ggg, the only one looking bad will be canelo...he was the one vacating the belt to avoid the fight, it dont matter how you want to slice it.
golovkin is not worth more than 15 mil.. this isnt some 2 mil buy fight
