I give him 100% credit for defeating Hopkins. However, the way he defeated Hopkins was dirty and disrespectful. While Joe Smith was unloading a barrage of punches, Hopkins had no where to go and was basically in a turtle shell. After maybe the 4th or 5th punch, Hopkins was starting to fall backwards outside of the ring and then Joe Smith throws a completely unnecessary one last shot to Hopkins' mug. It seemed as if Smith purposely wanted Hopkins to fall out of the ring which is kind of a b*tch move knowing that your opponent is 51 years old. On top of that, Smith celebrated like he didn't give a **** and showed no concern for Hopkins, a legend in the sport. Imagine if a young Tyson fought an old Ali, Tyson would've have destroyed Ali but then he'd kiss him at the end of the fight. Tampons are in aisle 5, softie. B-Hop said so himself, he was backed against the ropes fighting the way he chose. Fight until the man goes down, or the ref intervenes. It's not rocket science. Nor is it a hippie-love-in, which seems to be what you are after.

Then the senior citizen shouldn't have got in the ring with him. It's a boxing match. Hopkins knew what the risks were going in. No he didn't. He's a senior citizen he doesn't understand what's going on regarding anything. Allegedly he forgot to even train for this fight.

Yes, exactly! Joe Smith should have realized poor little B hop was falling out the ring and had mercy on him. He should have, when Hopkins fell out the ring, jumped out the ring, helped him to his feet, and apologized. He should have immediately disqualified himself from the fight and raised the Alien Executioners hand in triumphant victory. Of course, he never should have pushed an old man out of the ring. That is a move of, as CaneloMaidana would say, a racist coward!

You should never worry about whether your opponent might fall through the ropes while throwing punches. You're trying to win a fight. In Smith's case he's trying to win a fight against one of the craftiest, trickiest, and most deceptive fighters ever. F*cking right he should keep punching. Agree with this. I didn't realize it'd been over 2 years since hopkins last fought. Now I'm surprised he didn't get beat even worse. Nothing against joe smith (love an upset) but that wasn't the same hopkins who fought kovalev.
