Fkin noobs you dont sht about boxing..
Now i suppose Williams got exposed too right? Lol
Williams is a technically fine fighter. This guy is very well schooled with a clean style.
I just watched that fight 2 days ago. He beat Centeno every second of every round. He was winning this Charlo fight as well 3-1 before the 5th. ****, he was winning the second before the KD. He's a good fighter, he just overreached on his right hand and paid for it dearly.
My thoughts exactly, he was countering very well but was too far away when he tried throwing his right. Hell of a punch by Charlo too, both guys are very good.
He has a weak chin. He was knocked down with a stiff jab. I think he was overrated going into the fight. Who is the best guy he ever beat? Jermall was better than him in all aspects of boxing in my opinion and Jermall is good but not exceptional.I doubt J-Rock will ever be a world champion because he just isn't that good.
J Rock is a quality fighter, was beating the shyt out of Centeno Jr., it was less competitive than Sulecki-Centeno, Sul being a top 10 mw.

There were a few technical flaws that were exposed, as well as a questionable chin. He was reaching in with his right hand, he was a bit too willing to exchange early and he didn't hold when he was hurt. He'll learn from the loss and i really hope he bounces back.
He was not that badly hurt by the jab, yea his legs were a bit dodgy when he got up right away but that happens. He came back strong in that round and if he was badly hurt Charlo would have went for the kill that moment.
So the jab definitely stung him but he was not that badly hurt by it, a guy doesn't respond the way he did that round badly hurt and he was moving just fine after it.
J Rock definitely has skills, but his chin is suspect for use. He was nearly stopped with a jab. Ward got up from a jab and was fine. Williams was chicken dancing, meaning his chin is below average
Ward got put down with a right and was wobbled or dazed several times with jabs.
JRock's definitely got skills, I had him 3-1 up going into the 5th, but his chin may be a bit dodgy. Not because of the KO, but he was BADLY hurt by a jab, I know going down from a jab isn't a big deal, but being hurt that badly is.
Still though, he can definitely become a champ, like I said he's got real good skills. If he sharpens up his defence, there's no reason he can't still be a top fighter even with below average punch resistance.
forgot about the perfect jab that turned his legs into spaghetti?
This. Let's this retarted thread right here. Guy got wobbled by a jab and was very hurt. He's worse than khan.
that was a perfect uppercut so i dont base any opinion of his chin on that...but that jab that had him on queer st. makes me wonder...truth is we wont know until he fights more quality opposition
Nah the legs are very weak on Williams and no fanboy complaint is going to change that. That jab had him seriously wobbled and a few shots throughout had his legs doing a dance. Some fighters just aren't born with strong legs and Williams is one of them.
If it was just the uppercut it would have proved he didn't have an ATG chin because it was such a perfect punch.
he walked into a power jab against a guy known for having a great power jab. fighters with good chins have been dropped with jabs before, cotto dropped clottey for instance. kell brook even knocked a guy out with a jab like that, robles didnt have a particularly good chin but still.
a power jab is a legit punch, if you know how to throw it and time it right it will do that kind of damage. williams chin is fine and his skills are excellent. charlo is just a beast.
clottey wasn't wobbling all over the ring when he got dropped. just a well timed shot. how can you say his chin is fine? he got badly hurt by a jab and brutally ko'd. charlo was hitting trout with some real nice shots and he hurt him a bit but nothing even close to this and trout gets dropped and hurt a lot.
going on the evidence that we have we have to say his chin is bad at this moment. hopefully he will prove us wrong and maybe his chin was just on vacation for this fight and he will eat up shots when he fights another solid puncher but history says thats unlikely.
Boxing fans are so stupid sometimes, why does it have to be one or the other?
:lol1:
Just like any team can lose a game/match any given day, a fighter can lose for a variety of reasons, it doesn't have to be that they got "exposed".
Boxing fans try to hold fighters to either one end of the spectrum or the other, ignoring the middle ground: "if he wins, he's the real deal, if he loses, he was a hype job".
Maybe the other fighter was better, maybe he wasn't, maybe he was just better that particular night. Maybe he wasn't better at all, he just landed the right punch at the right time.
"lucky" punches are rare as well, you are watching skillfuly placed punches more often than not.
A prime example is JMM stopping Manny, anyone who calls that a lucky punch doesn't know boxing, period.
That is the point, it may not be either; we have no idea what level Williams is. This is the first time he's fought someone good. Only time will tell.
Charlo is a good fighter, but he was very level with a faded Trout and couldn't put a dent in him. Williams looked like a slightly lesser fighter than a faded Trout to me, with a suspect chin.
J Rock definitely has skills, but his chin is suspect for use. He was nearly stopped with a jab. Ward got up from a jab and was fine. Williams was chicken dancing, meaning his chin is below average
Like others have said, it's the jab as well.
Now this is not enough to say Williams has a glass chin, but now we need to keep this in mind going forward. He might have one.
We don't know how good Williams is, this is the first time he's fought someone that wasn't crap.
Exposed may not be the right term, he might just be average.
