If this guy had continued his boxing career, could he be a champion today? What do you think about the technical skills of this guy?
Pirog was man enough to take a GGG fight unlike Sergio, cotto, or canelo, shame he got injured in camp, his style and length would have gave GGG all type of problems...
Yep, I dont have doubts about that Pirog was a warrior but he never faced elites fighters.
lol
Pirog was a good fighter but no more, you need fight with elite opossition to be some special, Pirog fought just bums and a class b like JAcobs.

He gets credit for beating a prospect that they say isn't good and has a glass chin.
lol

Pirog was legit. He fought at MW but had great size for a smw. Excellent technician that knew the sport well. He was an excellent chess player and tried to apply that knowledge in the ring. Similar to the klitchkos in that regard.
when wlad plays you in chess he just grabs you and prevents you from moving any of your pieces
Please....
He didn't do anything....now he was a pleasure to watch.
In my opinion he was. Same way its a pleasure for me personally to watch Rigo or Invisible perform. That kind of defense isnt seen much at all these days, and his career was short af. Would be interesting to see how his career would have panned out.

... beautiful vid!...
:pat:
What makes him the grandmaster...A win over a 23 y/o Prospect?
Is that all it takes to impress ya'll??
Reference to his chess playing. Kid wondered into the sports center looking for a chess opponent and discovered boxing instead.
You really ain't got much nice to say, have ya?
Used the shoulder roll pretty well and used shifting in his offense often
He looked pretty lazy in the ring tho, part of his style I guess to conserve energy

The true Grandmaster was Clottey!
Just playin', I can tell you from personal experience. You can not box with a bad back.
You hurt your disc, athletics is over for the rest of your life.
You might be joking, but Clottey was a true defensive master. He had excellent defense, that turtle shell is hard to penetrate.
Great upper body movement. It was very important for that style of fighting. When you injure your back you can't move your body like that anymore. Shame.
