I'm rewatching the fight. Round 1 and 2 were close.
Round 1 to Golovkin because he had Brook hurt, but Brook closed the round pretty well. Close round for Golovkin.
Round 2 for Brook, he made Golovkin look like a C level fighter in some periods.
Then comes Round 3, and when it starts Brook touches his eye, which shows that at the beginning of that round he already had the ****ed up eye. Starts the round uncomfortable, a shadow of what he was in Round 1 and 2, and starts getting beaten up.
I'm watching the fight from here http://www.boxingfightsvideos.com/2016/09/gennady-golovkin-35-0-0-vs-kell-brook.html
I still don't understand that second round. In the first round I thought... well Brook is fast, which was understandable. In the second round Golovkin just looked like a complete tool. Still he managed to get Brook's eye broken, luckily for him.
I don't know if this is the result of Vada testing or what, but he didn't impress me as much as in his other fights. Also his defensive skills were horrible in this fight, and I've seen having much better defense in other fights.
Based on him being up on the cards at the time of the stoppage. I thought Brook beat Porter about as easy as one could going against porters smother/swarmer style.
He was only up because a clear knockdown was not counted in round three. But even saying that Brook is quite accurate so his ability to land some shots at any weight wouldn't be in doubt. What's in doubt is whether he could do it for 12 without being worn down.He had it tough with Jones too.Nothing in his career ,or in Golovkins would suggest it.He got hurt in round one,had a good round two, knocked down in round three ,not counted ,let's say he won round 4 and doesn't complete round five. We're talking about 12 round fights. Not like being ahead by round 10 is it?
Based on him having a few good moments in round two? No evidence that anyone can beat an unbeaten fighter "easily". Brook didn't even beat Porter easily.

If Brook was a legit 160 his whole career I'd favor him to beat ggg quite easily.

You missed the clear knockdown to start round three that wasn't counted.Brook was swamped, and Golovkin couldn't miss him with the jab,the same one that broke his orbital.
What got me about that round was how badly Golovkin feinted Brook right before the knockdown.
I was actually surprised at Brooks willingness to trade with GGG, he showed some real dog.
Without the damaged eye just think he would have lasted a few more rounds but the result was never really in doubt.
I give props to Brook, he showed his calibre as a technician AND his heart as a fighter.
He proved a lot of doubters wrong in those few rounds.
His success is hugely overstated. Golovkin showed him respect for like the first minute. After he hurt him with the body shot he threw all respect out the window. He walked forward with little strategy or care, looking to slug and stop Brook. Even then Brook only won one round.

In the 2nd, Golovkin just gave up his stiff jab... for some reason...
Golovkin himself said he lost every round. He knew he was outskilled. His size/power/strength advantage won him the fight.
But this usually is the case when small fighters move up. You are at those disadvantages

Lol, did you have Brook winning the fight before the stoppage? :lol1:
people are going to get the shock of their lives when brook beats spence
Why would people be shocked, Brook is the vet and more accomplished fighter and more than likely, odds are gonna favor Brook.
When that happened Brook already had his eye broken. Round 3, Brook starts the round worried and uncomfortable.
That doesn't mean the eye was the reason he got knocked down.He was hurt in the first with two good eyes.He evaded alot of shots with his bad eye. It's still the knockdown nobody talks about, because it doesn't suit the narrative thay Brook was deserving to be up on points. He wasn't.
