Summer 2013: Ward, (active and regarded a top P4P fighter) was offered the GGG fight by HBO, GGG said "Lets fight", but Ward said "No thanks" to a dangerous GGG fight and went on to fight Edwin Rodriguez instead. Ward just recently commentated a couple GGG fights for HBO and seemed to be very very impressed, comparing GGG to Chavez Sr, just a better version overall, more power and better defense. Ward didn't move up in weight, he just stayed in his natural weight class which was no longer 168. It's only considered moving up when you can stll make weight in a lower weight class easily. And Roc Nation forced Ward to fight Kovalev hence why he was crying about being forced to him because he's black. That sound like someone looking to fight the best? Ward didn't move up in weight, he just stayed in his natural weight class which was no longer 168. It's only considered moving up when you can stll make weight in a lower weight class easily. And Roc Nation forced Ward to fight Kovalev hence why he was crying about being forced to him because he's black. That sound like someone looking to fight the best? You should include in the timeline where Ward was before the Monroe fight and right after it. Why was he hiding then? The Lemieux fight just popped up out of nowhere. GBP was expected to prolong Lemieux's winning streak, but lo and behold Hopkins and Dela Hoya didn't have any patience and thought Lemieux was ready for GGG. Meaning, Ward should have sent his so-called offer before and after the Monroe fight. Bottom line was he was just yapping, feeding manure to these anti-GGG people.

They could act like they wanted a Ward fight but wouldn't actually have to fight him. Clear duck by team g string. If team g string thought he could beat Ward, this fight would have happened already. They don't think he can beat Ward. Immediately after this, Ward moved up a weight class to fight the #1 light heavy weight (Kovalev) and team g string drug the #3 or#4 welterweight (Brook) up not one but two weight classes for a fight. But didn't GGG and friends say they'd only go to 154 or 168 for a big PPV fight? GGG haters seem always to leave off that last part of the statement. It's not like they were ready to go up and down in weight just for kicks. And Ward was not and still isn't a big PPV attraction hence why they weren't interested in him and why the 154 - 168 statement mever applied to him. The fight was only of interest from hardcore fans. They were open to the fight but Ward but he was trying to hustle them out of their purse, like he did to Kovalev, when he wasn't even A side. Hence the 164 50/50 purse offer. Not to mention Wards ridiculous offer to fight GGG at the same time they were expecting to fight the Canelo Cotto winner.

Amazing how so many people only pay attention to what they want to be true and conveniently "forget" the real facts/truth of the situation. :lol1: Basically what the TS did, put up loads of articles to make it seem like GGG wanted the fight and somehow omitted all the articles about Ward offering him the fight on 2 occasions and it being rejected both times. Like many already said, why is it even called ducking when they're not even in the same division? Loma calls Rigo's bluff at 130 and Loma is called all kinds of names. Big guy taking advantage of a smaller guy. Andre Ward does it and nobody says he's a bully. Why can't people use simple logic and common sense?

Ward has been pretty hypocritical. The only time the fight was possible, in real terms was 2013 and ward turned it down and went missing for 2 years. After that, it's been a party trick pulled by both sides to gain attention for their fighter and their fights. Ward has been more guilty of it then team GGG. That's all there is to it.

Dunno. I never saw it is a 'duck' but then I don't use the term and the only real time I'd ever consider it is regarding not fighting mandos (and not even then, if there's a compelling financial / status fight getting in the way). Far as I'm concerned Golovkin never needed a 'reason' not to fight Ward - cross division fights are always entirely at the discretion of those involved and always on a case by case basis, but even if he did his position as mandatory to the WBC strap and a possible mega fight was excuse enough. Reason I don't bang on about it more is that many of the guys who now label GGG a duck endured much similar language towards Floyd (and others) and some (not all by any stretch) of the guys who defend GGG also use this kind of language regularly and unfairly against other fighters. Don't know who started all that BS, but it's a sad little merry-go-round that's going on IMO.
