Golovkin's next 10 fights? How would you rank him then?

With all the love and hate that GGG gets on here, what would all of you say if he was to fight these guys and win in his next 10 fights. 1. Jacobs 2. BJS 3. Eubank 4.Canelo 5.Canelo 2 6 Ramirez 7. Chavez Jr. 8. Ward 9. Kovalev 10. Beterbiev If he were to win all of these fights. Now how would you rank his resume? Be honest. There are some Floyd nutt huggers who will never give him credit and there are some Golovkin fans who will swear he is better than Sugar Ray Robinson. Be objective here. note: the fact that you prefaced the end of your post with 'Floyd nut huggers' on one side and 'Golovkin fans' on the other, in addition to the few responses that I've seen, let it be known rather clearly what type of answer you expected from this post. honesty has nothing to do with this post, lol

i remember there were threads back in the day saying if Pac beat Cotto/DLH, he would be considered top 3 ATG. Paulie Malinaggi came out himself and said if Pac beats Cotto, he would consider him the best ever. this is on video. Then what happened when Pac won? LMAO. The point is, haters are manginas. they are women scorned. they have more emotional turmoil than logic. You know what happened? Pacquiao looked like **** when he fought Marquez the third time, Pacquiao leaving $40m-$50m on the table (over not wanting to give up a little bit of blood) created a lot of smoke around the PED suspicions, and Pacquiao got left on his face in the 4th Marquez fight, while also getting routed by Floyd Mayweather Jr when they finally fought. Roy Jones Jr, in terms of sheer ability, is arguably the best fighter I've ever seen fight live, but he's taken himself out of that ATG conversation with how his career has continued for the last decade (if Roy Jones had walked away, after coming back down to edge Antonio Tarver at 175lbs, he would've retired 48-1, a 4-division world champion, and easily one of the best fighters to ever put on a pair of gloves). Why you expect some exception for Pacquiao is beyond me.

If Golovkin's next 10 fights were the ones listed, and he won all of those fights without any controversy, Golovkin's name would likely be put in the mix with the best fighters to ever put on a pair of gloves, tbh. Only hang-up with that idea is that the timeline, as you've already laid it out, will never actually happen. Golovkin is already 34 years old, and has spent his entire professional career at 160 (with no rush to even consider a move up or down). The Jacobs fight, if the bids go the way they'll go, is likely Golovkin's last fight at the age of 34 (though he may be able to squeeze in the Saunders fight before 35). He'll be 35 for the two Alvarez fights, would be moving up to 168 at 36 to fight Ramirez (a 26-year old fighter, still growing into his 6'2 frame) and possibly Chavez Jr (who I'm still not sure we'll ever see at 168, tbh), before moving up to 175, at the age of 37, to take on Andre Ward/Sergey Kovalev/Beterbiev, with every one of those opponents walking into a hypothetical fight with Golovkin with more fight left than Golovkin (350 amateur fights and a 15-year pro career saps the body). For a guy who "30 days out from the fight is 165lbs" (if you honestly believe that weight nonsense, that's on you) to be able to walk into a ring and beat a guy who's fought at the top amateur level at 200lbs is asking a lot.

He'll be lucky to get 5 of those fights in his next 15. That would make him 40 years old if he fights 3x/year.

Some where in the top 100 all time, but don't forget Roy Jones Jr, James Toney, and Thomas Hearns all did that so you know he'll be an ATG but not the greatest, Mayweather and Pacquaio both dominated multi divisons recently to

Canelo has been a middleweight for about 3 years now. The whole world knows it except Canelo & GBP :lol1: So the excuses will be ready if he loses. Plus Canelo has the counterpunching style and some power to make the fight intersting and to make some excuse after he loses to get a rematch for big money. Canelo is a good fighter & has come a long way since his loss to Floyd, Counterpunching & power are his arsenal, but if Golovkin boxes & moves(not Lara like) he looks like an amateur.. I 100% agree with your opinion that its all about the money in this fight..

Chavez may not be great but if he is motivated it would earn GGG laot of money. True, but the win is insignificant. Its hard to project where GGG will be as long as he stays at 160. He has every right to pursue unification. since the guys will likely not fight him, what is the point of staying at 160 if your goal can't be achieved (through no fault of his own).

Maybe half those fights happen if we are lucky, but to answer the question. If he wins all that he is on God status.

It depends on where those men are at the time of the fights after Canelo dude. If Kov, Ward and Beterbiev have all been beaten badly and/or lost multiple times then those wins will be judged far different then if they happened today while they are all close to prime and undefeated. Chavez is a bum and that will not elevate him at all. Chavez may not be great but if he is motivated it would earn GGG laot of money.

That ain't happening. I suspect if he unifies 160 he will immediately vacate & go to 168 & challenge the unified champion (it's likely there will be one by that stage, not a fully unified 168 but partially!) & then retire. Legacy cemented at 160. I think he atleast tries to fight Ward and or Kovalev. He had success against Kovalev in sparring and it will help him there. Plus Ward is not a big puncher either.

If he did all that he would be climbing up those great rankings but I don't think GGG will go anywhere near Ward, Kovalev or Beterbiev. Remember all that Roy Jones Jr achieved so he certainly shouldn't be higher than him unless he earns it.

If he wins 90% of those fights he becames top5 P4P in boxing history no doubt.
