Today's elite fighters are very good, but not great. GGG is very good, Canelo, very good. But Roy Jones was great. The fact that he started his career as a 152 pound Junior Middleweight to the a Heavyweight crown is nothing short of outstanding. I wonder if any of today's fighter who starts at Junior Middleweight could win a title at Heavyweight.
Yeah, if you do something illegal and lose as a result of doing said illegal thing,It's a loss and you deserved to lose. Roy was in a tough competitive fight, for the first time in his career, and couldn't cope,so he found away out wasn't the first and certainly want be the last, but at least he grew from it.
Roy definitely deserved the DQ. There's no disputing that. He lost his cool, but he was on the verge of stopping him. He'd got back into the fight and the finishing line was in sight. Yes, Montell won officially, but to celebrate it in any way is too much. He was awarded the fight after getting up from the canvas. I don't know how anyone can claim that he really beat Roy. It would be like Byrd celebrating his win over Vitali.
You really class that as a win? Yeah, if you do something illegal and lose as a result of doing said illegal thing,It's a loss and you deserved to lose. No he didn't...James Toney lost to Montell Griffin twice. The fact that Roy went up in weight to beat Toney was impressive enough. The same Montell Griffin that beat Roy...
Will always be the guy schooled by joe calZ
Roy ducked the best for years and when he had no choice but to fight joe, he was schooled and made a fool of, someone who built his career on fighting cab drivers
Joe calZ is goat in his division and one of the best ever, undefeated for a reason and schooled Jones and Hopkins for a reason
At that time, Roy was still a decent fighter, but years removed from the great fighter he once was, far past his prime.
Toney did just as much as Roy.

You're either trolling, or you're clueless.
Kindly tell us which one.
Cheers.
Roy was a freak, and freaks don't come around all that often. The next freakish guy will be vastly different, which is why no one should try and fight like Roy Jones.

I don't care what anyone says.
Roy's run up to becoming a heavyweight champion of the world was probably the most impressive thing ever in boxing history.
